I was very curious what people think about that song. I am fan of Doja music but lately her behavior was really off putting.
I really like attention. I am very frustrated when men think that the worst thing woman can hear is “you are ugly” or “I don’t want to sleep with you”. She really hits the spot talking about it.

I understand her disdain for her previous work. It’s totally understandable as an artist to be frustrated that your visions aren’t being realized due to industry standards in pop music. Like you said however, pop doesn’t need to be a derogatory term and it speaks negatively to the artist’s ability if they aren’t making inspiring tunes given their creative constraints.

Disparaging your fan base just comes off as a bit pretentious and corny when they’re the ones platforming, funding, and granting you accolades. Even with contractual obligations, you’re still responsible for making those tracks you dislike so much lol.

I feel like Doja Cat is one of those people with such a wide array of influences that it's hard for her to buckle down and focus on one sound. As a result she jumps around from sound to sound that are easily traceable to the artists she admires, rather than cultivating a sonic landscape that is unique to her - so she looks back at her past work and thinks; "this just sounds like everyone else - this isn't distinctly me." I think that's why she's taking such a 180 in her sound and aesthetic. I do think the new single is promising because deep down I think she's more of an alt-girl than a main-pop girlie, but it wasn't anything groundbreaking. She just needs to solve her creative frustrations in private rather than ranting about it online.

The fans acting like she wasn't disrespectful towards them is actually worrying to me...

I really dont think she was telling the truth when she called hot pink & planet her "cash grabs, " bc as a genuine fan I can say that a lot of her older/unreleased soundcloud songs sound like they would belong on either of the two. Hot pink & planet her are a real reflection of her sound at that time & there's nothing wrong with that 🤷🏾‍♀️

Doja has always been one of the biggest trolls online. She went viral for a song where she's LITERALLY dressed like a cow. She loves to play with people and I love that about her

Doja: "It's mediocre pop and cash grabs."

Also Doja: *wins Grammys for Kiss Me More and cries*

I love when artists switch their sound up, you can't do the same thing forever. to be fair, I never thought of her as a pop artist, Hot Pink and Planet Her were very different from each other but like honest said, the music had that playful sound to it. She could've easily switched her sound without insulting her listener base, so for that I listened to it, but didn't add the song to my playlist. Like she said, she doesn't need her 'stupid fans' :)

i think it’s funny that people say they want the old doja back when this is who she’s always been. like the only thing that’s changed is her aesthetic, she’s not the traditional beauty standard anymore, and people think that she’s lost her mind. I think the whole demon thing was just a way to get people to unfollow her that didn’t get her or the music

Attention is a good song, but it's not of higher artistic quality than Streets. I think Doja is a lot more bothered than she thinks we are.

Damn I don't know why people hate the chorus, it fits so well and sounds really good.

The length made me so happy! Not a huge fan of her vocals in the chorus, but enjoyed her delivery in her verses

She really did raise everyone's expectations for her new album. This could either be good or incredibly bad, depending on the work of course

I love this song so much, the chorus gives me 90s/early 2000's indie-rock

I was into it. I'm not obsessed with it, though. It did what it needed to do, but it barely reached the threshold. However, I am here for Doja and have been. I am excited for more, and I really hope that Doja can prove herself to herself.

the chorus for me is just a part of the song thats between the actual good bits. not really anything that adds to the stuff she wants to portray in the verses and it felt kind of long when listening to the song more than once/a few times. it fits the song and the production well, but for me it kind of puts the song down a level and makes it less groundbreaking. i enjoy that shes putting herself out there as who she wants to be and that shes calling out the ppl and media, but i think twitter already did that for her. i hope that more than just "calling out the haters" comes out of this project. i see enough of that on her daily rants on stupid stuff that ive ended up just scrolling past saying "just doja being doja", no hate to her. love her. love the song kinda. cant wait for the album. wahoo

I love the song! Been listening to it every day since it came out. She's defn going to attract a different fanbase imo. I was never really that into her older work but I'm loving this! Love the look. Love the attitude. Love the music video & the chorus. It's creepy in a good way. Like a monster luring you in.

As someone who grew up in the 90s - all the references felt contrived + manufactured. Feel like Doja is trying so hard to prove herself. Which is understandable, but not as an enjoyable listen.

Agree w this video that’s it’s well crafted - the chorus is quite pretty - but not something I would replay they way I listened to “need to know” or “kiss me more”.

I honestly will not have anything to do with her after her comments about fans. "Good" music or not she doesnt need to be in the music industry with the way shes spiraling
