How to Paint a White Cat - Start to Finish Oil Painting

In this video I share pretty much the whole process I go through when painting pets. This oil portrait of a white cat named Simon was finished just before Christmas 2020, and was completed in a hurry because the post had lost the first edition!

I find some of my best work comes when I'm under pressure, because it's so easy to get bogged down in fiddly details and ruin a piece. Working quickly forces me to put a priority on the important pieces first: the structure and lighting, the broad strokes, and the art comes out stronger as a result.
