Best description of the batsmen during Warneys spell in 2005...."looked like foals on roller skates"!!

4:28 that stare at the batsman.... no chance a 22 year old Bell was ready to face the master.

Absolute genius. Pity he left us that early. RIP Warnie
You will live forever in our hearts. Your legacy is immortal

The Bell LBW from 04:21 was to typically Warney. Set him up with a couple of ripping leg breaks turning like a top before slipping in the slider going straight on. He was a joy to watch over after over.

I hadn't realise that Warnie was my idol until he passed. Shattered! It was the same feeling when Steve Irwin was lost.

That footage of him working over Bell at about 4:21 is classical Warne. Michael Holding in commentary nailed it with "when will the straight one come along ?". Warne would only use his variation when convinced the batsman was ripe for the picking. He also had an excellent wrongun but so vary rarely bowled it.
Smarts combined with Talent. Only the very best in the world could maintain a decent average against him, and they still got totally bamboozled on occasions.

I am from India and i humbly state that the great Shane Warne was the best leg spinner ever to play the game of Cricket.

May his soul rest in peace 🕊️

The master of the straight one. Many of these were simply non-turners aimed at the stumps getting the batsman to play for the turn. He was a much more guileful bowler in the second half of his career.

It's amazing how batsmen kept getting out around the legs playing the sweep.

They will be using footage of Warnie for a long time to teach the future stars of wrist spinning on how to not only bowl spin but "The Art Of Spin Bowling" Itself
He really was the master of setting up the scenario he wanted then he got you out as someone said in the comments here he really did get all the great batsmen of his era out The day he chipped that half hearted flick off his legs on 99 only to be caught still haunts me because if he had only pushed it along the ground that day he would also had a century to his name as well ☺

Shane Warne is the greatest leg spinner to have played the game .but murali was better as a spinner .92 more wickets in 12 less tests .Odis no comparison at all far ahead murali.no argument about Warne AUSTRAILIA wickets tough McGrath, gillespe, Lee to rough up surface and pressure creation for middle order batsman etc there to not get wickets. murali had only vaas ? but looking from muralis POV it's really tough right?? And murali had a great record in Eng .he didn't play that much games as Warne played due to ashes 195 wickets vs eng who are poor players of spin
