Despite challenges, the BRI aims for completion by 2049, coinciding with the centennial of the People's Republic of China, with ongoing adjustments to include sustainable and green projects

As of 2024, the initiative encompasses a vast network that touches 1/3 of world trade and GDP, and over 60% of the world's population, highlighting its extensive reach and impact on global economics and infrastructure development.

it is most difficult for the people who grew up in the Western 'democracies' to understand the guiding principles of the Communism mainly due to the mistakes made by the Soviet Union and by the failures of the smaller Communist countries by the meddling of the Western powers, principally US. China is a huge country and has learnt from the mistakes made by Soviet leaders and by its own mistakes. China is now in a position to be able to afford that every single individual within its borders can lead a decent life, have free education, free heath care and be free from the fear of the meddling by the Western hawks. At the same time it can afford to let the individuals exercise their abilities and have more wealth that an average guy, BUT it does not place or allow such individual to exercise more power that the one whose abilities are not as high. A good example is Jack Ma: he is one of the richest individuals in the world, yet he has no more power or influence on the China's policies, laws or any other aspect of the Chinese public affairs. The Chinese President is in that position simply because the people's representatives have chosen him for the only quality that matters: he is all for the good life and prosperity of every Chinese citizen. Just look at the 'leading democracy', the USA: it is a joke - an absolute joke!!!

China's BRI is an amazing initiative, and has moved Hundreds of MILLIONS of citizens, around Earth, from poverty to middle-class life styles.
I laugh at USA, telling the world ... again ... how their IMEC is going to be better than China's BRI. The problem is, China has built the BRI right around the world already. USA are still trying to get the IMEC up and running. USA is all talk and very little action. Why USA has not done much with their IMEC is because USA makes everybody else pay for the IMEC infrastructures, while they pocket all the additional profits. USA only works for USA's interests. China works for global, respectful, unity.

Just like the Melaka Gateway (Huangjing Port) in Malaysia, China's involvements in building infrastructure around the world are simply a strategy to make friends and, more importantly, to break the U.S. attempt to contain its rise on the world's stage. BRI is a great project for Nepal if it join Kathmandu from East and west of China which would benefit more china markets than Nepali markets because china can supply more goods replacing import that currently doing Nepal.
