Followed you from our ankylosing spondylitis site, KickAS.org, on 'Curing Autoimmune Disease'.   Am so glad to have followed the lead - you guys are awesome.  Now, I do not use such accolades lightly, but listening to you unfold the 'story' was riveting.  Apart from the autoimmune system v the gut picture your summation of small fibre neuropathy was right on the nail.  I have been battling this for some years and in spite of the EMG not showing too much, you have opened the lid, including the pre-diabetic involvement, as my own sugar levels were 'jus't under 6...!! but of course totally ignored by the medical model.  Ho-Hum.  Wish that ALL medical students could be sat down and made to listen to your webcasts, every one of them AND ALL rheumatologists, endocrinologists, ALL GPs etc etc <VBG>    Thank you.
 
Sadly I live too far away to actually consult 'with' you but will assuredly follow your recommendations - and hopefully will even 'cure' my own small fibre peripheral neuropathy (those bedclothes touching my feet - hanging feet outside of bed on to floor - banging feet to get the circulation moving - the burning of the lower limbs) completely *ignored by the medical model - and this in spite of AS problems including spondylolisthesis L5/S1; fusing C3 - C5; and, you even mentioned the tonsillar problem - which is strongly suspect in my own case.  Am in awe.  PLUS, you are both relaxed and jolly and good to follow.  Sometimes swallow your words, but, Oh Boy, 9/10.  Super job.  Kudos and heigh, HUGE THANKS  (Plse excuse typos...!)

It certainly limits my walking capacity, house-work etc.

don't know if I have this.but I do have fibro.An I can't use Lyrica, cymebatla, gabitin, or sevlla...I was on all these for over a few months back when i got told I have Fibro.All those medications just Gave me horrible side effects an horrible weight gain an did not help my PAIN at all.So if I do end up haven this how would they treat me if I can't take those medications you named?

Dr Rutherford, why do you keep laughing?? There is nothing funny about Small Fiber Neuropathy!! And what is the "shock" Procedure you keep talking about? What Can you do to help with all this pain? You keep talking but I dont hear anything about how your actually gonna help..

I found this because someone in my small fiber neuropathy group posted a link. About a month ago, another support group that I am in, posted a link to your talk on Epstein Barr Virus. Like Dr. Gates, I have Celiac Disease. I have immune deficiencies as well as another autoimmune disease. I am seriously thinking of making an appointment with you.
