Britney's wedding to Jason was seen as a rebellion against her script that made her a superstar, granted her excessive tabloid fodder. At the same time, the media thought she was competing against Justin who was dating Cameron Diaz at the time.

There are pros and cons to this union. Britney had a moment of independence and freedom after 4 albums; she needed to catch her breath to prevent being burnt out.
She made a smart decision at the time choosing her hometown friend to marry who knew her before the chaos of the celebrity life began.

Another upside was after the annulment, Jason did jail time so Britney's assets were protected for a while (until her conservatorship stole from her)

The downsides where it was all an act of impulse, leading to her management and parents to do damage control get an annulment then punish her by sending her on tour.

I can understand if you do long term dating and then get married. And a divorce shortly after that. That probably means you're meant for long term dating and not marriage. Or that person wasn't meant for you to marry. But 90% of the time, many celebrities quickly get engaged/married only after a few months or maybe 2 years of dating. There is no age limit on marriage so I don't understand why do people tend to rush into it.
