Good video but I expected at least a mention of upscaling devices like the framemeister or retrotink-2x.

Me: Well maybe I could use my native resolution, it can't be that demanding, right?

The worst kind of upscale lag is the one that tvs do with analog signals like composite etc..
To perform "deinterlacing", which is converting 480i to 480p, they use some algorithms that may add stuff like 400ms of input lag, and even perform this on signals that are NOT interlaced, like the 240p output of basically all oldschool consoles, that not only add lag, but several other artifacts.

This is what I heard video editing software has to do as well. When we set up a frame size but use different frame sized videos. It requires a lot of processing power and thus slows down editing.

Thank you for sharing this info.

I appreciate how the clickbait title has a brief explanation at the end. I'm tired of how many articles have bad titles just to get us to click on their stuff...I've stopped opening articles and videos like that.

always use native resolution. it reduces lag and creates a cleaner image, regardless if you get less frames per second.

So, bottom line, is it better to run stuff at the native resolution to reduce input lag? And just crank some graphic details down?

Do stretch resolution op your increase input lack on a 1080p screen?
