Power Rangers launched in Aug of 1993. That's thirty years of this franchise. This clown is trying move away from the core audience that stuck around even when Disney bought Power Rangers. Jason David Frank would not approve. Any Power ranger fan would not approve.

There are mature sentai works and sentai inspired works, like Go! Go! Loser Ranger! But something tells me thats not what they are going for.

MMPR did they're own in thing after they ran out of footage for Zyuranger and it's was great. But they stuck to the formula set by sentai. They respected. This clown has respect. How did he get his position?!

From what I can tell those tokusatsu roots are why Power Rangers has any audience in the first place. Your current audience will bounce because the selling points of the show went poof, and the 'large mainstream audience' will probably not turn up because selling points of the show went poof.

You might actually be better off moving closer to those tokusatsu roots.
