Hi there. Thank you for taking the time to create this content. I’ve just purchased an F6, which arrives in a few hours. I do however own and have owned many Zoom and non Zoom audio recorders. I currently own a Zoom H2N (not sure where it is actually :) ), a Marrantz PMD 661 and H6 which I’ve had for about 2 years. I have used the H1, the H2 and the H2N and I’ve played with a Zoom H4. To be absolutely fair to your thoughts on the build quality of the units featured, the original H2 and H1, I agree that they are plastic in nature and cheap feeling... the H1 in particular is very flimsey. Had one and it didn’t last long as I use my kit in the field. I’d say that the H1 is rarely something to be purchased unless you want pretty decent audio and you really must save every penny. The H2 and H2N are great, but no XLRs andphantom power. The H4 and H6 are pretty decent kit and great for a run and gun audio recorder and mixer. I’m yet to experience the F6 but looking forward to later... but just on the point on things not being professional grade... I have used all of these recordings for television and national (even international) broadcast radio. You asked about Taskams, I had a DR07 and a few others. They are pretty good but the pre-amps have always been better (to my ear) on the Zooms. On the SD card slot on the F6 only having one SD card slot, again, I use kit professionally with one SD card slot. I do use good quality SD cards though so you shouldn’t have an issue. If you are doing video, , you can and should record internally and run the line out in to the camera with line-out DB set to -10 or -20 and make camera specific adjustments. You then havde two audio backups. Of course the 32 Bit float audio would only be on the SD card. My perspective is that of a field reporter and journalist. Use reasonable SD cards and you’re laughing. All the best - just my take and thanks again for the content.

Mine didn’t come with the battery’s (makes me feel like I got a used one)
And B&H says it doesn’t come with any
But every unboxing I watch has them Included
