Excitation in a Nitrogen Glow Discharge

In an earlier upload we attributed the yellow light to the conversion of the gas to N2O and NO2 with the required oxygen coming from a leakage. Such a plasma is for instance very important for the re-entry of rockets and spaceshuttels into the Earth’s atmosphere. However, with OES we could not find an influence of oxygen.
