Formula Drift St. Louis Round 1 and 2 Final 4 Battles
Показать описание
It’s hard to believe that we are 9 months into 2020 and we finally got to see our favorite stars of the Formula D world championship in action. 2020 has not turned out the way we all anticipated it would have. As the new year rung in, we anxiously awaited the start of the FD season at the Streets of Long Beach, all we could think of was who would be able to dethrone defending 3X Formula D Champion James Dean?
Well, 2020 has not been the year we all were looking forward to. With the Covid-19 pandemic, it seemed the entire world was put on pause. The long-anticipated start to the FD season that preceded the historic Long Beach Grand Prix was canceled and FD was forced to postpone the start of the season not once but multiple times as the social distancing restriction preventing any kind of mass gathering across the country.
If it’s one thing that FD has learned over the years is to adapt to the changing world, and adapt they have. At the writing of this article, we are already one week into September, at this point last year we would already be on the final leg of the season with the title race in hot contention. One would be wondering if James Dean would be leading the season or if drivers like Fredrick Aasbo and Ken Gushi, in new Toyota GR Supra would be giving him a strong competition, or veteran and former Champion Chris Forsberg and his tried and true 370Z be back on top.
Unfortunately, we will never know who would be able to dethrone defending Formula Drift champion James Dean and his Worthouse Drift team. On August 24, just a couple weeks prior to the start of the season, Worthouse Drift announced they would not be competing in the 2020 Formula D series and that the team would be disbanding. Obviously, this news means that for 2020 there will be a new Formula D champion.
FD St. Louis did not disappoint and we bring you a recap of the final four from round 1 & 2 in case you missed the live stream.
