This vid made me realize how much my bf puts up with me. The only difference is I cosplay male characters about 90 % of the time. I still wish he cosplayed too lol

I'm a cosplayer and my boyfirend is not, but he's the greatest dude you wanna have with you on a convention as a cosplayer.
We went to gether to MCM in London and we actually planned what we want to do, I packed a simple cosplay and one day was for the convention itself and on the other day I was in my kickass armor with my huge bow. He stood up with me 1 hour before we had to leave, helped me getting ready, made sure my make-up looked good and made sure we are leaving on time. He carried all my stuff and at the con he helped me getting into the rest of my costume and during the whole day he was carrying my stuff, sometimes took my bow so I could relax a bit, made sure I am fine and of course he was giving away my business cards to the photographes and most of the time he even was the one to spot them and made ma walk past them when he was 90% sure he would see me (and then probably ask for a picture) and after an exhausting 10-hour day he helped me taking off my armor, helped me pack and still carried everything until we arrived at our hotel.

Before cons he works through the nights with me, makes sure I give him all the tasks he can do (like priming or sanding) and comforts me, when things go wrong, he makes sure I sleep at least a little bit and calms me down, when I am about to collapse, because my time-management is shitty as fuck. And he always knows where at least one pair of scissors is and where one cutter is! When I can't sew at my university, because I don't always have access to our textile-workshop, I can always go to his place and use the sewing machine, he helps me plan and always listens to me when I have an idea for an attachement or something, because he knows how important it is for me to speak out my thoughts. He even helps me choose make-up, lipstick colors and eyeshadow colors! He is very critical and is always honest. when I ask him if something is smooth enough or accurate enough, he just tells me what he thinks, but also gives me advice. Like when there's only like 3 days left to finish something, he is realistic and says, that it is not perfect, but that I don't have the time to redo or refine it.

He didn't really know what he had to expect, but he learnt really quickly what I need and when he just has to be there and be the silent, invisible helper. We're a perfect team and even though it has a lot of cons for him, he loves seeing my progress, he thinks I am sexy no matter what cosplay I am wearing. He loves me as Kida, but he also says I'm supersexy as fully armorder kickass Marauder Ashe.
I think that's the point^^ he loves me and I love him. He always respects my crunch-time before cons and my resting time after cons, he knows that cosplay means the world to me and instead of competing with it, he is just part of it *^*

My boyfriend isn't the only one who gets stuck holding my bag when people ask for pics. My friends have a term they deem to each other at cons who get stuck with my purse. .it's called 'the bag bitch'. lmao

I don't make cosplays but I do run a mildly successful etsy store where I make cosplay items. I'm constantly, I mean CONSTANTLY working on commissions. I'm actually working on one right now but I decided I could spare the 3 minutes to make a post.

Anyway, I feel so bad for my boyfriend because we hardly ever get to spend time together and honestly, when I do have down time all I want to do it play video games or watch TV.

I want to be in a cosplay relationship, even if it's not perfect, just so I can have someone to cosplay with :)

Okami: Never had a relationship with another cosplayer, but at my local con there's a guy who dresses up as my favorite character every year and we hug and cuddle and even the occasional smooch.
It's pretty great.

its funny because for my first con i went as karkat from homestuck and i didnt have a purse i had a huge ass beach bag that had makeup, babypowder and probably a small horse inside it. I didnt have anyone with me so when people stopped me for pictures i was like "UUH SHIT OKAY GIMME A SEC" *flings bag on the floor and watches it slide about 10 feet* "OKAY IM READY!" x'D

I actually met my husband at a con. He doesn't cosplay much any more (getting older and what not) but he's still supportive of me doing it and making money by making commissions. He also offers to carry bags lol

My boyfriend and I: "Lets cosplay this at KitsuneCon!" "Alright!"
Months later:
"Hey I just got the wig when was that convention?" "Oh. I think that was a few weeks ago"

As a cosplayer who's dating a cosplayer, the hardest thing is probably finding time to hang out with each other at cons(unless we do couple cosplay) because we both got groups and different plans :'( also the jealousy, because it sometimes happen that I want to cosplay a ship that my girlfriend either doesnt like, doesnt want, or dont have the opportunity to do, and when I do it with one of my friends, she can get really jealous :/ either way, having someone to do what you really love with is a blessing ❤
