I wish so badly that I could vote. The thought of being able to do something to keep my rights and the rights of those like me, instead of sitting here feeling useless, is so close her so far from my reach. I’m terrified of the direction we are moving and yet I’m too young to vote to stop it.

I turn 18 during midterm, and I am absolutely terrified as a queer child in the Deep South of the U.S.
I am terrified that if I find a woman that makes me happy I won’t be able to marry her if she is the one. I am terrified that I will be sinking in student debt after college because I don’t have a college fund. I am terrified that I won’t even make it past 16 at this point. The world has gone to shit and it feels too big to handle. I don’t want to grow up, and I don’t want to live here in this hellhole that is the United States.

I'm a Cis White Female, I'm happily married, a Christian, and a Mom to a beautiful 13 month old girl. I'm terrified for her future. I'm also a proud Auntie of a 12 year old nephew, 10 year old nibbling (non binary kiddo), 3 year old nephew, and 5 month old niece. I worry about them too. I'm voting to keep everyone safe. I refuse to vote for anyone who hates anyone I love. But I also refuse to vote for anyone who hates anyone period. I'm gonna do my part to try to keep y'all safe. Texas has been purging the voter rolls of over 1.1 million people so if you live in Texas double check to make sure you are still registered. If you're not the deadline to register is Oct 7. Dont wait, you can register online.

Thank you for reminding everyone to vote. But also, never question whether you're allowed to be silly or offer people an escape just because the world is scary right now. Giving people an outlet to forget their problems for a minute or two is just as important as fighting to fix this issues. I've lived in Europe my whole life and I haven't once travelled outside of it. I now realised how privileged I am to live in a country where I have basic human rights.
I feel so sorry for the Americans.
