🔥 BEST password manager deal - grab it like it's hot 🔥

Want to know more about 1password? Start here:

Finding the right password manager for your daily activities can take some time, and it is more important than ever that you get the level of protection you ACTUALLY NEED! That’s why I’ll pit Bitwarden vs 1Password, for the ultimate password manager mash-up.

🔐 Security comparison 🔐

There are no red flags in this 1password vs Bitwarden security dive, with industry-standard end-to-end AES-256 bit encryption. This means it’d be impossible for a cybercriminal to reverse-engineer your stored passwords.

Any best password manager will have a zero-knowledge policy, and these two are no different. Looking at the must-have security practices, they also both have 2FA.

🔑 Password storage 🔑

Since 2017 both password managers offer cloud-based options. 1Password does uses a not-so-common 34 letter and number security key that’s stored on your device, and your device only.

Bitwarden is open source. That’s right, their code is open for public review at any time. A really transparent move. Whilst 1Password’s Linux version is based on open source projects, I still wouldn’t exactly call them open source.

🔎 Notable features - Bitwarden 🔎

Bitwarden is one of the most robust password managers that I’ve tried. One feature I think is especially streamlined is the fingerprint phrases, this assists in securely identifying other users for sharing vault entries.

Then there’s the data breach report, which works similarly to 1passwords’ dark web monitoring. Both notify you if your data ends up on a dark web database, and also they both prompt you to take action with weak, reused passwords.

🔦 Notable features - 1password 🔦

1password has many built-in tools to safeguard your passwords. I’d say their implementation and approach are very user-friendly and caters a lot more to families and businesses.

Their Travel mode feature is pretty rare and meant that I could safely access various vaults internationally, and protect other vaults from being viewed. Very helpful if you share accounts with family or colleagues, or if you have different documents you only need when traveling.

Similarly to Bitwarden, 1password has a security dashboard, just with a more dramatic name; the Watchtower. It can check the security status of individual websites and the ecosystem of every vault.

✏️ Applications & ease of use ✏️

When it comes to compatibility, both providers support the major operating systems. But when I was doing everyday activities, like sharing passwords, autofill, generating passwords, and stuff like that there were some caveats I want to put on the table.

As I mentioned, the biggest selling point for 1Password is their multiple vaults. This makes sharing permissions and credentials super easy. With Bitwarden, sharing passwords is also easy, though arguably not as streamlined.

If I had to decide which is better on my mobile - I enjoy the Bitwarden mobile app. And if I was to mention which one I’d choose for desktop - 1password is definitely my choice.

Final thoughts ➡️

So, what’s the main takeaway from this Bitwarden vs 1password review?
They both have solid security, 1password has more tailored privacy features, but Bitwarden is an open-source, trustworthy company.

The pricing is similar, though Bitwarden does offer a forever-free version if you really can’t invest. Where they differ is with ease of use, they’re just tailored to different users, 1password being super-efficient, and for families or business users. Bitwarden is effective and robust, with not the fanciest UI but still a solid offering.

I’ve used both of these password managers, but currently using 1Password as of right now. I just really like the seem less autofill and the way it suggests strong passwords so I don’t have to go to the browser extension and generate a password and autofill it. That’s the reason I chose 1Password as my #1 Password Manager for me.

I haven't tried 1Password but I am looking for a replacement for LastPass. The one feature I really liked about LastPass is the re-prompt master password option on any of my passwords. Bitwarden offers this as well. Does 1Password?

Used both very extensively and 1Password comes out easily on top.

Because of open source nature... Bitwarden clearly takes it away for me. Passwords are extremely sensitive information, and i dont care 1password is more expensive i would have still payed for it .. but i get the transparent open source bitwarden - thanks for the video though.

I have been using 1Password for years, but 1Password 8 is a huge step backwards imo. It is faster overall, which is a plus, but the interface is terrible. It is more difficult to use now, and it doesn’t need to be. Vaults are now essentially folders. It is difficult to display only vault items and search them. In 1P7 you could choose the vault from a list and that was all you saw on screen. Everything you did was in the selected vault. Now everything is merged together. Thankfully they added a feature called collections which I can use to list only one vault to get the same experience I had on 7. 1Password 8 Mac app is particularly painful to use, thanks to their decision to no longer use native Mac code and instead use the open-source JavaScript-based Electron framework.

I use 1Password and its $2.99/month. A con with 1Password is you can not print out a simple list of all your userIDs and passwords to store in a safe. It can only produce a CSV file. Does Bitwarden offer a print feature? Is there a migration program out there so users can jump from one to the other? 1Password used to be a great product but now the money grab is on with the ever increasing monthly (yearly) payments.

Thank you for your reviews and the discount link! I've been a long-term user of LastPass. But after going through glitches and the recent breach, I decided to leave it. Currently trying out 1password. I've tried Bitwarden in the past but their UI didn't excite me, although it is more affordable, aka being free.

So, if I go to login to, for example, my Netflix account on a computer I've never used (like at a friends house), am I logging in with my MASTER password or what?

Lately I hate this new 1Password so I quit. Got bitWarden. BUT! It's in my Safari. Isn't there a stand alone app so I don't have to keep y browser open all the time?

Hi. Came across your channel. I like the content but one annoying thing in the presentation is the screen pixelation from what page to the next. It's like watching a TV channel over rabbit ears but the signal keeps dropping between scenes. Imagine if Hollywood did that in movies, we'd probably give it a thumbs down. Also the extra logo inserts between frames could probably be reduced, there are a lot of them.

I have been looking at both of these with the lastpass hack. The problem I had with 1password is that key they require which I lost so am totally locked out of the account. The web interface of both seemed almost the same at least it did when I looked at both. Now I can not get into my 1password so can not verify.

In the time since this video came out 5 months ago, it looks like 1Password's prices went up -- family plan is now $5 instead of $3.50, which is still a good deal.

I used 1Password when I ran MacOS -- I had some reason to move off of it 5-6 years ago though I don't remember why. Some part of my brain is thinking that maybe at one they did not have an Android app, or maybe it had limited features, I just don't recall. It looks like everything's a-ok now with that, and there's this newer one BitWarden which looks pretty solid also. Tough decision to choose between them.

None of your links work when Norton VPN is turned on? Why is that?

Devastating news with the Last Pass breach.
I’ve been running apples, built-ins password manager on my MacBook and my iPhone side-by-side with LastPass for a year. I’ll probably just stick with apple’s password manager as my sole vault.
