Fighting. Dancing. Singing. Blood. Laughs. Tears. It's complete fiction but based on two real Indian heroes whose bromance is still a better love story than twilight. RRR has it all. I’m going to tell you about this Indian Telugu-language film you may or may not have heard of but that you should DEFINITELY give a watch. It isn’t for the faint of heart at 3 hours and two minutes long, BUT it is well worth the investment. Let’s get into it!

In real life alluri sita ramaraju was stealing guns from the british police stations and sets the whole police station on fire. He takes the guns to the tribal people and teach them how to use guns. He was doing this for a while. Later the british was so scared of ramaraju and his acts. They invested 40 lakh to capture ramaraju and they capture him and do a public execution. If you come andhra pradesh (state in india) there are some places u can see ramaraju's statue. And ramaraju's tomb is still there in vishakapatinam, india. He died in 1924

RRR was my first Indian film - its easily the best film of the year, and honestly is probably going to end up as one of my favorite films ever made.

Just finished watching RRR and it was EPIC! Learning about this film from a one line mention in another Youtube video was enough to make me suggest an afternoon movie date with my wife. Pop some corn, get some candies and dive in you are gonna love this movie. Come for the action and be amazed at the dance numbers and singing.

fun fact - the war bikes at that era weigh only 50 to 60 kg which a normal soldier can lift but flipping is another thing which depends on your believability

Sardar Udham (2021) is a hindi language biopic period drama that you must watch. It's tone is not at all the same as RRR, but it is a good movie nonetheless. Available on Prime.
Another movie, though fiction, I would recommend is Tumbbad (2018) a hindi language horror fantasy available on prime.

I am sure most my Indian friends would suggest Bahubaali 1 and 2 (including me) but I will suggest EEGA (which means a fly) ..all 3 films are of SS Rajamouli the director of RRR..
EEGA is a story of man who is reincarnated as a fly to take revenge on his killer..it's a crazy film..released in 2012 ..a decade ago

Alluri sitama Raju is my home town freedom fighter. In his early 20's he gave up his day to day life to fight britishers, became a monk( sanyasi) and left his family. He used to live in jungles and many people started joining him as Britishers at that time brought a law making certain tribal way of life illegal. He used to loot guns from police stations and used them to loot more police stations. Britishers couldn't catch him so they did worst crime:
Britishers took a village hostage and sent messages in all directions that if alluri doesn't surrender then entire village will be massacred. He came alone and surrendered with his weapons. He was shot multiple times on the spot. He died crying "vande Mataram " ( salute to motherland) at age of 26.

PS: we Indians dont hate today's britishers for actions of people of past. Some britishers did positive work in India but that doesn't offset the negative externalities of British raj. Colonialism is net negative experience.

Baahubali and RRR are probably the only movies that gave the same scale as lotr movies.

If you wanna check out other works of this Director, watch his greatest work and Indian cinema's pride " Bahubali 1 and 2 " and another movie called " Eega ( Fly ) ", in which a man who was killed is born as a fly and takes his revenge.

You have nailed this review! I was almost embarrassed for myself, that I liked the Bollywood dance scenes in this Indian "action film" so much. Almost anyone can enjoy this film, though there are a few scenes with children that were pretty rough to watch

RRR is undoubtedly the best movie of this year. One of the most entertaining and action packed movie I have ever watched in my life

Understanding the incorporated symbolism elevates this movie to a completely different level because of how seamlessly it has been done. Of course this is more for those familiar with Indian history and philosophy. But most western reviews for this movie(though understandable)always feel incomplete as they primarily review it as an action flick, something comparable to the marvel universe.

You will love this movie more if u deeply analyze every metaphoric reference of this movie cuz SS Rajamouli shows a movie with less cool dialogue, in his movies the imagery talks more than dialogue... I have analyzed some deep meanings of some scenes and there are more scenes like these
The whole bridge sequence is cool but at the same time, it also summarizes the whole movie plot. Ram's mission is regarding the country (jumps with a Flag) and Bheem's mission is to save the child from his tribe (jumps to get the child) and in this journey they exchange their missions (exchange of flag and child) and eventually succeed helping each other.
The chariot was on fire cuz when Ram comes, the place was full of wild animals and the animals are afraid of Fire so to get rid of animals on his way to Bheem, he did that and here comes with director 1000 IQ, it also represents that Ram is a Fire.
I want to tell u something about Water and Fire:
Somebody asked Rajamouli why he chooses Water & Fire as a friend which is never possible cuz they r opposites and don't like each other. Rajamouli replied that they r opposites but if they come together and work with each other they can do amazing things like they can create steam which can run the motor of this whole world.
1. There is a scene during the friendship montage playing when both of them were running beside the train, and the train releases steam. Most of people will think it is just for looking gorgeous but it is not. The thing is when water( Bheem) & fire(Ram) come together they create steam. It is the reference and also looks beautiful.
2. When the INTERRRVAL title card was about to come, there was a scene where the blood drops on Ram's hand from his eye and it creates steam if u look deeply u will see that.
There is many references I can't tell more.
In his movies, he does not add any cool dialogue he just shows imagery and reference. If u see then u will not see any cool dialogues in his movies...his movie making is different
And in his movie a hero is a hero who has no limits, he's not here to describe anyone about realistic, physics-fail things.
