The very thing I was concerned about and feared has taken place at Asbury. All I pray is that there are some that do actually receive the gospel, which brings eternal life, and a renewing of the mind by the power of the word of God which is the Sword of the Spirit.

I’m grateful that a non-cessationist is posting about this revival. I was one of these people caught up in the “worship” we see in this video. Praise the Lord that he never gave up on me. All we know and can believe in, is that the Lord will +still+ pluck his people out from this destructive, works-based theology.

What was wrong at Asbury?
Many were content with singing and dancing. Many weren't studying the bible. Many were enjoying sensual activiity. It would have been good if people were Christ focused but many people were mostly body focused.

The historical Jesus wasn't taught properly. Many people there were lukewarm. They felt that singing and dancing is all they needed to do. Many lacked understanding and were self focused. They were effectively saying, We have our singing and dancing. We have need of nothing more.

That's is the thinking of Laodicea. That's what lukewarm people think. God doesn't accept that type of thinking.

And I will totally just take that one snippet of Romans and leave it at that.

They deny the power and sovereignty of God to choose who, when, where to impart the gift of tongues, according to HIS will.

They are basically trying to force God's hand according to THEIR will, when THEY feel who, when where tongues should be imparted.

Form of godliness, but no fear and reverence of God.
