"dark brown" This is medium brown at the darkest. There are so many women with rich, beautiful, dark brown skin it's disappointing to see that this is the best model they could find.

This is the furthest thing from dark brown and the fact that the darkest shade is called black is both offensive and perpetuates colorism. To say that the darkest skin tone is black and then have a picture with a lighter skin woman with long curly hair and label this picture as dark brown implies that she is not really black, making her more appealing and accepted. Adding to that, the picture used to represent the color black has a darker skin, African American woman with permed hair, giving her more European qualities. As if to say if she had natural hair that is "too black". You missed the mark BIG TIME. Go back to your marketing team and try again and this time make sure there are WOMEN of color sitting at the table.

I bet they could see “dark brown” if they were picking out shoes, belts, or wooden furniture but they pretend to be obtuse when it comes to black women. There’s no way if they just took a swatch of that models skin into the furniture store or clothing store and asked for items to match that any of those would be described as “dark brown.” Do better, @Clairol.

Very helpful! I won't be dyeing my hair but I ordered some clip ins and they don't match my hair color. I got a natural brown but it is still too dark (level 2). I decided on the 5G color as it matches my hair color the best. Golden Medium Brown! Thanks for including the undertones as well because they matter!

I don't get the hate? In respect to the skin color pallete, the photo used on the right is dark brown. Maybe not the thumbnail photo though. That looks like light brown lol, but the photo on the right defintely is dark brown. Maybe in respect to other African american skin colors it may be considerably lighter, but it's defintley dark brown lol. Also, this isn't telling anyone they have to dye their hair a certain color because of your skin tone. It's meant to be helpful. I literally have dark brown skin and I wanted to watch a video as to what colors I could try for my skin tone, because it's harder to find colors that look good on my skin type. It's inclusive and really helpful, yet some of you are calling it racist. So do we want representation or not? Because this is it lol.
