We don't need bigger diesel engines, we need realistically priced trucks that last longer than the loan !

These new trucks already cost nearly as much as I paid for my house. I can't begin to imagine the price of this new model. It would have to be $120k starting price.

At the end of the day a pickup truck can have all the power but the frame and axes are only so strong

Shoulda called it "SUPERMAXX", cuz you'll be imprisoned in a payment plan for several years. 👮‍♂️

More horsepower and torque than several of the first few semi trucks I owned.

Just love how humble you are man. Please never loose that. Don't know how many channels I've seen that feeling lost when they get big. Glad your son is doing good now man. Can't imagine. You all take care. You should do some 3.0 content man. Those trucks are super popular. I have one and love it.

Agreed! If we got our GM Dana King Pin 60 back, we’d all be content!

That’s were a conversion kit from Edison Motors will come in handy. With towing and having the best of both worlds. Diesel generator and electric drive power. Go Edison Motors!

Kodiak trucks have had a straight 6 Isuzu based Duramax 7.8L at least 20 years ago.

Josh Cummins actually did the r and d for Mercedes on that 8.3 and was in freightliner medium duty trucks but those engines were known to eat bearings before the 6.7 Cummins was put into the medium duty freightliner trucks

Check out what Edison Motors in Canada are developing for diesel trucks. A diesel generator that charges a battery that powers motors. That could be the future because there's no downtime with waiting for batteries to charge

I've got 2 8.1 gassers and love them they pull like freight trains. A duramax 8.3 would be sweet but is it needed? To be honest I see way too many people hauling way too big of loads for trucks. Anything much over 30-35k is where you really should be using a much heavier truck then a HD pickup. Will they haul yes, but anyone who has ever towed something much heavier than your tow vehicle knows what I'm talking about not all roads are smooth sailing. If a person can handle towing it's not a problem, but too many that think they can and end up in a heap of trouble. I'm all for more power but the tow ratings are getting to the point where a cap needs to be set. If not in a few years it will be 45k+ loads and if the trailer brakes go out on a long down grade that pickup truck is not going to hold it back. Definitely GM needs to bring back the solid front axle probably there biggest mistake was going IFS on medium and heavy duty trucks.

Ford Godzilla is 7.3. 6.8 is the smallest gas motor offered in Super Duty now.

I'm speaking for those who own diesel trucks, that us guys would like the newer trucks to be free of emissions that choke off the engines. I see that it costs thousands and the cost of the Def fluid, just more that the EPA wants to control us.

Dang can't wait to actually see one.... wonder if Gale Banks and Oshkosh had something to do with this he has talked about some really cool top secret stuff.

Exactly why I’ll NEVER get anything above an LMM. Mine is at almost 280k miles and not major issues yet. Shit it still have the stock front end and I’m on 35x12.5x20s. Of course it’s on a diet and efi live

If you take the hp/tq made by the 6.6 and extrapolate it to 8.3 you get 565hp and 1257 tq
