The 2025 Toyota 4Runner lineup features two new trims—an off-road focused Trailhunter and a high-end Platinum—that join the SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, and TRD Pro.

Most models will be powered by an i-Force 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 278 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque, while others get an i-Force Max hybrid with an added electric motor that ups total output to 326 hp and 465 lb-ft.

Appearing more like a Tacoma SUV than it has in decades, the new 4Runner shares many exterior styling cues and interior features with the recently released pickup, while also nodding to its past.

Best 6th gen 4runner review in my opinion. Its the exact information real 4runner owners want to know.

How come nobody folds the rear seats down and shows the actual sleep platform/storage space?

Thank you for mentioning the roof height! A lower roof is great for handling after mounting RTT and stuff up top

Love it specially the trail hunter can’t wait to have this

Platinum series is going be crazy expensive and targeted for specific people. With the third row and added weight for comfort, Toyota should put the GX550 V6TT into it.

This thing is still body on frame and it’ll still be Made in Japan. I’m sold 🤌🏽🔥. My wife got 5th Gen Trail-Premium, as much as like it too, it was long overdue for a complete redesign.
Everyone wants to complain that it’s to similar to the Taco but forget that the 1st Gen 4Runner was pretty much a Toyota Truck.

Trd pro should have the TOYOTA heritage on the steering wheel not the emblem

Why the 2850mm wheelbase is (or considered as) Toyota's magic wheelbase?

the lower roof height is great - better stability

The new 4Runner will start around 42-43k for the SR5 and probably 47k for the TRD Sport non-hybrid. I think its the best deal out there for what is essentioally a Land Cruiser made in Japan best car in the world. It should sell like HOTCAKES unless people have no money

I am not sure if I missed it. But will the whole seat flip action be standard across the board? The main selling point for me was always the 80“ length interior of a 4Runner giving me the opportunity to just lay long inside to sleep and camp. If they take that away I have to go with something else again

Love it. Gonna drive my 2023 TRD off road for the next 25 years. RIP 4 runner.

Got bored waiting for you to get to the point. It's over 58k for the good one. with dealer markup 100k+. LOL It's nice not 100k nice. The world now has Broncos lots of them with big ole 35's and 37's. If you want a street SUV KIA is a thing now. I'll give you it looks nice. No value for money. 🤷‍♂ They will sell like crazy I love the retro thing. the fan boys will go nuts for this. At least its not a BMW in yota metal.

I like it. I do. I can't believe its so similar to the Land Cruiser once you get up to the TRD OR and higher trims. Basically the only difference its minor exterior dimensions and full-time vs part-time 4WD. I was really hoping at least one of these new Toyota SUVs would do something different. Compete against the Wrangler and Bronco on some level. But they did what Toyota always does and stick to a formula that works. I can't blame them. I'm confident this will continue the 4Runner's legacy fine. I just wanted something a bit more radical.

This is a Tacoma with a cab, what was supposed to be the 6th gen 4 Runner was the LC. Prado based, it's a more refined vehicle. Just compare the weight of the doors.

Toyota is a global company that has been building small displacement turbo and hybrid engines for decades. They have provided larger NA engines in the US as the market and regulations supported them. Toyota is now using the TNG body on frame and smaller turbo/hybrid engines across many platforms and countries. One major difference is they do use turbo diesels outside the US as their emission regulations allow them. This will be a great vehicle with more power and efficiency than the old NA V-6. 326 HP and 465 LB Ft vs 270 HP and 278 LB Ft torque will be way more powerful. Nothing is perfect, I guess we will see.

Longer vehicle does not mean more space inside. Actually, it looks like less rear legroom in the new gen. The engine bay ate up more space.

Air Compressor…. Trail Hunter has an Ol Man Emu/ARB setup (same Co.) and they use an Air Locker differential which always comes with an ARB compressor.

It is wider due to the wheels, not the suspension length.
