Hindi and Urdu are just like Purple and Violet. One has more blue, while the other has more red, but both are made up of red of blue. Red represents Persian and Arabic, while Blue represent Samskrit.

"Hindi and Urdu are two twins who are identical by nature but very different by nurture." Very well put into words, man.

Probably the best and most unbiased comparison and analysis of both languages I have ever heard. And along with the best linguistic and historical knowledge.

When the world tries to paint everything as a black and white issue, you bring the context and allow the people the explore the grey area with such detailed explanation. You remind us that we are living in such an interconnected world and everything from what we eat to what we speak has evolved through a number of steps. The storytelling used to bing these concepts is also top notch. Reminds me of the style by Anirudh Kanisetti in his book Lords of Deccan. Great video and great research once again. Heartfelt Thank you! 🙏☺

I learned Hindi from Bollywood movies and songs which uses a lot of Urdu. It was only after watching Ramayan and BR Chopra's Mahabharat that I noticed what pure Hindi sounds like!

People fight over the purity of their language and culture without realising that every surviving and thriving culture is a mixture of several others and the real beauty lies in that. Thank you Ashris for making content like this. Hope to see more in the future

As a Bangladeshi Bengali, I can understand Hindi 90% because it has similar words like Bangla but pronunciation is little different. But I can understand 60% urdu because it has many arabic or persian awards. Bangla has also Arabic and Persian words but they sounds little different and mostly more softly with o and sh sound.

Thank you for recognising the importance of braj bhasa in the evolution of Hindi and even Urdu. As a person from this region I feel happy to know how much braj region has shaped the cultures, traditions and languages of India since the time of lord Krishna

As someone who’s always fascinated with linguistics and is constantly learning languages, I applaud the research and the immense amount of hard work that you’ve put into this and your previous video on Odia and Bengali as well. Infusing storytelling and music, marvellously done!!! I’d love to know your sources for further reading and knowledge
