Jesse Lee Soffer’s Chicago PD Return CONFIRMED..

Welcome back to Drama Spotlight. Not long after Jesse Lee Soffer exited Chicago PD, he is now confirmed to return, but it won't be as Jay Halstead. Just three episodes into the current year, NBC's One Chicago police procedural already wrote out the fan-favorite character. Despite the character's open-ended exit from the series, Halstead is officially out of Chicago PD, with no plans of bringing him back anytime soon.

Unfortunately, Halstead's departure on Chicago PD was rushed and unearned. After years of covering up crimes for Intelligence, he supposedly reached his limit, resulting in his decision to leave the police force and return to the army. While Halstead's absence is meant to be temporary, as his stint in Bolivia is only going to be for eight months, there was an assumption that he would never return as a regular on the show. But that doesn't mean that Soffer cannot ever come back to Chicago PD, as proven by this latest development.

Yeah Chicago is not the same without Jay. There is NO replacement fit for his role! I also hated the way they treated his story the last few episodes he was in

I miss Al Olinsky. The current group is great. Softer wanted to move on to other things. No uncommon for young actors who remain in a series a long time. Good luck, Jesse wherever you go.

I have liked Jesse since he was on As The World Turns. He’s a good actor, good looking and seems like a great young man.

Never really was much into Jay per se, but loved their duo with his brother Will. Too bad they didn`t even put them in a single scene together in Jay`s last episode.

Him going back to the military was a great exit for him it correlates with his friend Mouse telling Jay he had to leave intelligence for the same reason Jay was reluctant to have Mouse leave but now looking back he believes Mouse was right and that's why he ended following in Mouse footsteps

The only ones I would miss if they leave are Voight, Atwater, and Platt they're the only ones on the show who have not slept around. Riveting shows that sleeping around is the only thing I hate about it. Like Upton has been with both Adam and Jay.
