The PS5 Pro is by definition not going to be a device that many are going to want to purchase, but those who do are obviously going to be the kind of enthusiasts who will be keen on every single one of its enhancements and improvements.

In the lead up to the console's launch in November, more tidbits on it and the enhancements that it will enable in a wide variety of games have continued to be shared by Sony and other publishers, and here, as we continue to count the days down to the PS5 Pro's release, we are going to look at a few more of those details.

I haven't owned a PlayStation since the launch version of the PS2 but I talked myself into ordering a PS5 Pro today. I missed the entire PS3 and PS4 gaming generations, so I'm looking forward to catching up on some of the big-name games from the past 15 years.

I paid $400 for a Sega Saturn in 1995. That was a lot back then.

$800 (including disc drive) in 2024 is not bad. And you can trade in your OG PS5 to help with the price.

Got mine locked in yesterday.. Can't wait to play Rebirth and not look like the game is in a dream sequence on top of all the other enhanced games...my only flaw with it is I was hoping it would have ps link built in like the portal does.

How long the Pro’s life cycle will be?
If just 2-3 years until PS6 is released then I’m fine playing on performance-60fps mode on my base model (saving money in the meantime)

Unless for wealthy/enthusiast gamers, pretty sure they will still pre-order the Pro without a second thought, which is fine too.

Everyone complaining about the disc drives I get it. Me personally I've had a digital PS5 for 3 years now and it's fine for me. This is no different. I have a LG that supports the capabilities of the PS5 so I don't mind an upgrade

The aim of removing the disc drive is simply to increase console prices. Consoles are very cheap when you compare them to a PC or a phone. It’s also important for the platform have more control over the context which they can modify remotely.

Considering the better GPU and the extra TB or storage I still think it should have included the disc drive at that price $699. $600 would be suitable without disc drive. And yep I’m getting the Pro day 1.

People spent all that energy dogging on this system trying to say how much of a waste of time it is, just because it was a bit on the pricey side. Now it’s selling out and being praised by everyone that’s actually had hands on with it and seen it running in person and not on a compressed YouTube video. All the big studios are building their new games to be Pro enhanced, and developers coming out saying how excited they are to have this more powerful hardware to work with. I’m hyped for it. Can’t wait for mine to get here.
