Nobody knows the actual income. 95% of this country doesn't fall under income tax. There are traders, shop owners, farmers who earns in a lakh or more but they don't show it anywhere.

for someone whose wondering which income his talking about so to find that

first:
Take the total income (of all members in family)

second:
Count No of people in your family including kids

third:
just divide

for ex : if my dad earns 1 lac and my mom 40k
so total income=1, 40, 000
and we have 4 members in our family mom dad me and my sister

so total number of people= 4

now divide 140000/4 ≈ 35k
Now this is the income we are talking about per month.

To correct, this data is according to income tax department reported back in 2019/2020, and for the ones who have filed ITR return and the percentage of income tax returns who filed were only 5% of 135 crore
