I have found the proper originator of the trick is Al Koran who marketed the original method using the cups. There has since been other variations by Bob Hummer ,Harry Lorayne and Martin Gardner.

By the way, i figured out that i can look for the card i memorized from the back instead of revealing the cards. I mean if we can tell if the card is moved from a mark on the card, then we can tell its new position using the same mark. Does anyone agree?
