Yeah didn't work for me either - Very dissappointed. I tried to remove a broken jack from my iPhone but the tool was slightly too big to fit in the socket and so was a tiny bit crimped when it went in which meant there was no way it would ever get around the edge of the jack fragment.

Someone needs to mass produce firm plastic tube for all the different sives of audio jacks so they can be used with glue to remove the jacks

I've been in IT for 13 plus years working for a school district at several elementary schools. This is a great tool and works better than any other method of extracting these headphone jacks without damage. I can't believe someone will take the time to take apart the device and replace one of these. It is simply not worth our time to take apart devices. I will patiently attempt several times, which is sometimes required to remove the headphone jack tip.

I bought this and can't even get the tool in far enough to go around the broken piece.

Depending on how much is broken off. If it is just the metal tip, I have it work majority of the time. If it is a good chuck with the plastic/rubber, it never works.

For me it works. You have to slighty hammer it in before extracting. You cant just squeeze and pull it.

I bought one, and it worked with some sticky tack inside the cylinder to remove a broken plug from an iPad. However, it didn't work on a MacBook.

I was trying to get it out while watching this video and I started loosing hope lol but I got it out after like 30 minutes of trying over and over. It surprised me cuz I tried the pen and super glue thing and it didn’t work so it was superglued in there

It worked!!! Took a few tries, but after I had it fully seated it finally pulled the broken tip out of my old 30 gb iPod.

It didn't work for me either. After looking at the way mine broke I was able to use a toothpick to put super glue in the hole on the aux cord and slide it back in my headphone jack for a couple of mins. Then I pulled the tip out with it. It may not be a good idea for all situations but a small amount of super glue originally would have saved me hours and about $22.

IMPORTANT INFO My first few attempts with the tool didnt work but i firgured out how to make it work. You have to give the tool a few light taps with something hard to push the tool around the headphone jack. But be very careful though, when i tapped the tool it did take a little bit of the plastic inside my phone with it. I can still use headphones with it but i have to push in the headphone jack pretty hard. Still beats paying a good chunk of change to have your phone repaired.

I have an ipad with broken headphone jack, It did not work as advertised. But then I applied a TINY amount of kinetic force applied via a back of termination tool (or tack hammer or Crescent wrench LOL) and hammered it in, then a pair of needle nose to grip it and yank it out. so it did "work" but I don't know how much pounding and gripping it can take. (Phrasing is so important don't you think?) Perhaps this device attached t a long sturdy handle might work better.

Hey!! I had this problem. use a wd40 straw connector or one for a compressed air can. take the straw and force it over the broken piece and just yank it out quick. it fixed my problem so quick.
