How To Make Money Within The Red Dead Online Naturalist Role (RDR2 Online)

The latest Red Dead Online Update has brought us a new role, the naturalist role. The Red Dead Online naturalist role is a tough one to start, it costs 25 gold bars to start and it will cost a lot of money to buy reviver, pheromones, tonics etc and you will actually make a loss at the beginning of starting the Red Dead Online naturalist role. Once you get to max rank, rank 20 as the RDO naturalist, you can start to make a very decent amount of money and I'm going to show you exactly how to make money within the Red Dead Online Naturalist Role. This RDR2 Online naturalist role, isn't as profitable as the collector but it's still better than the bounty hunter, trader and moonshiner.

Or at level 1, just collect the mountain and grassland set 5 times and sell them all for $850 which requires sedative ammo and thats it...

She only stays mad for about five minutes or less. Sometimes if you go up to her with eagle eye active you can get her menu, even if she's mad.

A reminder: Gus pays more for Legendary Pelts because this week, its actually 2x dollars for those pelts. So as Tuesday hits, we most likely gonna get new set of legendary animals and this 2x on selling legendary pelts to Gus will be gone or replaced on something else.

And to be honest, it maybe the best money maker from all of those roles but there is the thing:
1. You said that We used to make over 1k dollars on collections within an hour, which btw, could be done only once per day.
2. As long as Naturalist this way make more money, but that will be the Only thing you will do in the game, just back and forth with sampling the animals and selling the samples to Harriet.
There is nothing wrong with that of course, but you can do Moonshiner mixed with Bounty Hinter and Trader at the same time and make a bit more profit. It is chaotic, but you will do different things from time to time, whereas Naturalist will be focus in 95% of the time, UNLESS you will make those 3 Legendary animals really quickly, sell Moonshine, set up another one and go back to hinting the Legendary animals.
Anyway, good to know that there is an alternative to making money, can mix and match or just swap daily.

Imma tell you rn. Farm alligators by Largas till Rank 5. From there do the legendary animal missions. Sedate them last (they are replayable) you get, like, 400 naturalist xp - 800 Naturalist xp every time you complete a mission and sell the samples. Plus you sell them for like $50-$90 every time.

There was a small update on this:

1. Level 5-20 can get *3 legendary animals*
2. Rutile horn ram is now available on all platforms
3. To level up the quickest if your under level 5, go to little creek river and you’ll find a bunch of animals

Just do this, trader, hunt then go to Harriet get drugged go to moonshine and start a batch then go to Harriet again then repeat the cycle

Don’t buy the sedative pamphlet. Once you rank the role to level 20 you’ll never touch them again, it’s back to normal and all about Gus after that

Pro Tip: if you want legendary in free roam, use the "Poker" solo lobby trick with a friend ;) done it on PC found 2 legendaries in our lobby

One of two tips I can give people is:

1. Hold onto perfect Squirrels and Chipmunks you kill with small game arrows. It makes Trader dailies easier to do for carcass turned in 10 min and for perfect carcass turn ins. All you gotta do is kill and pick em up as you see them every day. I collect them here and there so far this DLC and Harriet isn't too mad since I get one maybe every 10-15 Minutes.

2: When you need to donate 20 items donate feathers. Easiest and least wasteful method I have come accross.

I'm a 448 and my son is a 50. For XP purposes only, I had him sample alligators in lagras 10 feet from Harriet and repeat....ranks up lower players hugely, going up to 63 in an afternoon. 500 XP every 10 minutes. So very good for lower ranks too. Got himself a nice outfit by killing and skinning a legendary from Harriet and selling to Gus, instead of to Harriet. Yes, you can skin instead of sampling those missions. Great vid again boss!

You neglected to mention how legendary pelts affect the Trader role and that it donating legendary pelts actually does net more money than selling them to Gus, but it obviously takes more time.

Idk why you mentioned you had to be rank 20 to do 3 legendary animal Missions you can be rank 6 and still have all 3

I have only been doing legendary missions and animals like the ram bison and cougar are like 90-100$ at gus you also get 3 mission at level 12 I’m pretty sure

If youre under rank 5 you can posse up with a rank 20 leader you can do all of harriets missions with that posse, giving you xp for each sample

Very good guide to maximise money when doing legendary missions 👍
I feel like people are missing that if you got 10 of each sample for their different categories and sold them 1 per animal you would be able to trade in the full set 10 times. Let's say we sell 10x bison samples in one go that will only count as one stamp so when you finish the full categorie you would have to go get another bison to start the set again but if we sold only 1 we could complete the set then start again to sell them individually. Sorry if it sounds confusing lol

I would start a Mash in moonshine shack and then go to Harriet, complete the first and second best legendary animals and sample them and then kill the 3rd for pelt, the best would be Cougar, then it doesn't matter if she gets mad because you still wait for legendary cooldown, and while this is going on you are working on a batch of moonshine.

Mountain and Grassland is so easy to do. Done it about 8 times now. I really do enjoy this role
