I’ve seen a lot of videos on YouTube where repair men tell the customer that unless you have allergies they recommend the cheaper air filters because the thicker the air filter the less airflow to the unit and the harder the unit has to work

I found two windows AC units in the trash a few years ago. One is a Frigidaire unit from like 2008 that had a bad bearing and the other is a cheap Haier unit that had a bad power button. Both work perfectly. I control them using smart plugs that I can turn on/off from anywhere from the VeSync app as long as there’s internet/cell data.

Also Merv 8 rated air filters are best bang per buck for central ac. Higher Merv # catches finer particles but put more strain/electricity use on the unit, sometimes causing icing too.

If you have a split system were your compressor is outside. You can use a hose to water down the radiator fins going around the unit. Helps to reject the heat outside. Around 110, your unit struggles to reject the heat because the air outside is hotter

He gave me a Portable A/C that bows cold air on & off. So i would wait to a new A/C Unit for next week. Im currently using a Portable A/C he gave me, A Portable Fan & An Artic 2.0 Mini A/C.
