The bride may be all dressed in white, but the guests are unhappy about all of the green.

37% of Americans think destination weddings are selfish.

Suddenly the blushing bride has another reason to turn red.

Take it from a new survey by Allianz Global Assistance.

The idea is that many guests are unhappy about spending money and taking vacation days for your big day in a faraway place.

53% said cost was the biggest factor for not going to a destination wedding.

17% said not knowing the couple enough was another reason to skip.

Not everyone is declining the invitation.

People are willing to spend more on close family and friends.

35% said destination weddings offer them a way to see new places.

More than half of Americans define a destination wedding as a wedding that’s a plane ride away from the couple’s home.

With that, 73% said they’ve never been to a destination wedding.

They must view the added expense as the old ball and chain!
