So funny thing, I was at a Target not too far from me around the end of June and their toy section was like clearance city. If I hadn’t been there to get some clothes from their pride collection (my favorite piece being a white with red sleeves top that says #pride in rainbow colors) I would of left with so many dolls my parents would of been all wtf the moment they saw my bags. However I didn’t want to leave empty handed so I got the Scare-Island Clawdeen (already own my girl Draculaura) since she was the cheapest and according to the price check scanner is actually discontinued (none of the other dolls had this including the ones from the same line as her) so yeah. Had to get her. I also don’t own a Clawdeen and the vacation one is one of the few Clawdeens whose design I like. Plus only eight dollars isn’t a bad deal. Oh and I got an action figure of Donnie from the new TMNT movie for only five bucks yay. If I didn’t have a budget that day cause of my account I would’ve snagged a Leo for my bf and a Raph for one of my bffs.

Meanwhile my Macy’s came in clutch this month as they’ve been putting a lot more of their toys in the TRUS section in the discounted section that area has so I got a couple LOL Surprise cereal themed mini dolls that was about 20 or 30% off (unfortunately I didn’t check the code till I got home so I ended up with two of the same doll, oops), two Mini Brand Disney 100 Year edition for half off (thankfully no doubles), one of the current wave OMGs for 30% off (so from 24 to 18 which isn’t too bad) and the best find ever one of the 2023 holiday Barbies for around 60% off thus making her go from 42/45 to just 18 dollars. Yes please. Anyone say score of the year? I doubt I can find anything else that can top this. At least for the rest of this year and for toys. Unless the sales in December let me get something just as good. Here’s hoping.

My Walmart hasn’t been that great but I also haven’t been able to actually look around the toy section since that trip I did a few days after seeing Inside Out 2 which resulted in me getting a talking Joy plush for only eight or ten bucks, a plush of Splinter from the new TMNT movie for around the same price (first time I’ve seen any incarnation of Splinter get a plush) and a big like plush (she basically towers the other two) of Blue from Jurassic World which is something I’ve been wanting for years but till that moment all me and my dad have found has been the small like ones. Also she was only 12 dollars which is nice. Before that I actually found the bigger size doll doll of Rainbow Brite (at a steal of just 15 dollars) that I has been on my wishlist since I was five or six years old thus I had to get her. To put into perspective I turn 39 in October so I’ve been waiting to get this doll for around thirty plus years. Oh and I got another old school wishing gem troll doll in order to relive my childhood cause why not. Plus it’s only four or five bucks. Oh and I did recently buy a Blu-ray two pack of the last two Ghostbusters movies because it’s only five dollars more than the Blu-ray/dvd set of the newest film.

As for the rest of my mall, Best Buy actually has the Gangnam print dress Barbie Movie Barbie in stock but I got her for my birthday last year so I passed (if it was the cowboy outfit that be a different story) and I almost got one of the ACNH Lego sets as one of them is 18 dollars but then I found the Persona 3 remake (PS5 version) on sale for 40 dollars so I got that instead because yes I would like to not have to pay 70 bucks for a video game if I can help it. Other than that there wasn’t much else since they got rid of their home video section which is still a dumbass move on their part.

Forever 21 is great as I got a World’s Smallest roller skating Barbie for five bucks, a nice pair of Hello Kitty slippers for five dollars (all clearance stuff at the time is just five bucks each), a Hello Kitty hat for 18 dollars (there was no price tag and the cashier couldn’t find it in the records so she just used the first price that came to her mind which I’m certain is cheaper than what it actually is cause Hello Kitty), a Kuromi necklace and a Spice Girls shirt. Yes there is out in the wild a Spice Girls shirt in a retail store that’s 100% brand new. Granted it’s also pixelated but I don’t care, I got my girls and I actually never got a shirt of them growing up because never came across one in stores so let me have this.

BoxLunch had the lunch money coupon thing going on so I used half of my four to get a One Piece Chopper mini backpack cause no I will not pay the full price of 85 dollars for it. I also tossed in One Piece baseball shirt (these seem to be a big thing currently as my Walmart got a bunch of different ones in the women’s section, ended up getting a Barbie and Hello Kitty version there while my dad got my mom a Betty Boop one as they actually had it in her size) and a wicked looking Saiyan Saga DBZ graphic tee that has no right to go as hard as it does with the design. With the coupons and additional discounts (ten dollars in rewards and military discount) I saved almost 100 bucks. Most was via the backpack which became 38 dollars (the other two were around 25/26 and 15/16) but hey I’ll take it. Anything else is better than f-ing 85.

Hot Topic was also doing their Hot Cash coupon thing (so rare for both stores to do this around the same time, it’s either before or after or right in the middle of whoever started first) so I used mine to get a South Park Stick Of Truth bff necklace set (the only merch I’ve seen for that game is a bunch of figures way back when it originally was released), a South Park shirt with a bunch of the characters on it (only got cause my fav boi and son Timmy is on it and he’s hardly ever used for merch), a shirt of my main One Piece husbando Ace that I had to keep myself from screaming over for very obvious reasons (outside of Japan, I’ve found a bunch of figures, one plush, a pin of his Devil Fruit and a replica of his hat, that’s it) as well as glad that it fits me and a blind bag of the newest One Piece keychains that thankfully ended up being my man Sanji.

Oh and I did the Amazon Prime Day thing but since I got dolls at Macy’s, I decided to get some anime box sets as I haven’t bought any of those since I got the Ultra Maniac complete series set (which is out of print btw) at Anime Boston for only thirty bucks. There was so, so many series on sale but I didn’t want to go overboard so I searched up the ones I had my eye on via streaming sites (mainly Crunchyroll and Hulu) cause in my experience usually the ones not streaming anymore would also be out of print home video wise thus those be the sets best to get. Ended up finding four that I bought. Chobits (look up the manga art for this, it’s beautiful), Slayers S4-5 (by far one of the best fantasy series ever made and a very good comedy partly thanks to it’s English dub cast), .hack//SIGN (a fantasy/sci-fi show that was one of the handful of anime that Toonami showed when it started) and .hack//LEGEND OF THE TWILIGHT which I initially had to replace because the first set came in a damaged case but the replacement set case was also damaged (more than the other one) as well as already opened so it was used instead of new and it’s missing the disk with the first half of the series. Unfortunately I couldn’t get another replacement and I got no way to return it cause don’t know how (plus my dad tossed out the delivery packaging it came in) so couldn’t get a refund but thankfully one of the support people I talked to (first one was no help) was able to get a partial refund so better than nothing. Thankfully this set was the cheapest at 18 so not too upset over this (mostly annoyed over the missing disk cause wth, not that hard to see if it has both disks especially when it’s clearly been opened before) and I still have the other set that has both disks. Just need to buy a blank case to replace the damaged one.

Oh my gosh I want a Paolo Montalban Prince Charming doll so badly! I saw him on tour as Prince Charming in Cinderella a year or two after he and Brandy did the TV Cinderella (and Eartha Kitt was the fairy godmother in the one I saw, iconic!!)

I live so close to joes and I've never walked in there before. I saw a ton of vanessa dolls last time I went to burlington out there and it made me think of you. They've been moving those sale Heaths around the store all month. They were in the aisle, then in the middle of the back main aisle, then an end cap in home - I was hoping they'd finally knock a few more bucks off because I'd be in for like... $6 hah.

Here in the UK, it's called TKMaxx because we have a shop with a similar name;(T J Hughes), so for legal reasons, the name was changed.
