KUBOTA SSV 75 Skidsteer- 1 Year Review

I have owned my Kubota ssv 75 skidsteer for about a year and a half, so I decided to do a basic review on it, in case anyone is looking to purchase one.

Link to cool stuff we use on the farm:

When you have to search that hard to find dislikes on a piece of equipment, she's a keeper. I'll be picking one up when we start square baling to run the grapple.

I have rental experience with Bobcat S650, Cat 262D, SSV75 and a Takeuchi comparable model. I ended up buying this one and I love it. It is is a beast of a machine and very easy to control.

Looks like a good and useful machine. I'd love to have something like that on my farm. Someday... 🌲🌲

Great video. Thinking about purchasing one. Now that this video is 5 years old. Do you still have it and has it caused you much grief ? Thanks.

Thanks for an excellent overview. I and the wife have been considering one of these for our place. Having only owned tractors, I don't have a feeling for what you mean by "jumpy" controls. This was in your view the biggest drawback to the SSV75. Could you explain this problem in a more detailed manner for newbies to skid-steers? Thanks from Friendly Feathers Farm.

Regarding that bolt coming out of the "cup holder", I don't believe it is cup holder at all. On new one I looked at that bolt is replaced with a black screw that is flush with the plastic . However the opposite side from where that screw is where you think you should be able to put a cup is filled with a piece of plastic with a lip on it as though you can grab it and pull it out (but it doesn't come out). Seems like they slightly updated this area in later manufacturing runs? Still not exactly sure the reason for having that area. Another difference I noticed is where the backup speaker is on rear door. Looks like it is a hole on yours but newer ones have slotted openings.

When you are in the machine can you see the front edge of your Bucket > From your camera angles it didn't look like you could.

No idea why the buttons/switches do not have backlighting for nighttime operation!

I have this very same machine in hand/foot control. It has 2500 hours.
Two things I really dislike are: (1) the ign/ display panel location. It’s directly behind the control lever and not in direct view of the operator. How hard could it be to mount it a bit farther up so it’s not obscured by the handle?
(2) the boom design is very high pressure at the rear. The linkage pin for the arm and the bottom of the cylinder are just a little over a foot apart. Causes a lot of flex in the boom. Also the overall lift and breakout force is neutered enough that it can’t even lift the rear with the factory counterweights installed.
All in all it’s a nine out of ten machine especially good in build quality, serviceability, and reliability

The newer Case Skid Loaders are super responsive controls. You can adjust those down if you prefer. I think you could flip a coin with that bucket on the Case. I love Case never used a Kubota. I do like the idea of the door but all machines have a plus and minus.

When your the only operator that’s how your machine can last a long time with no problems

Good review. I've got a 2020 ssv75 and I'm having issues with the air filter plugging up with very few hours on it. I'm wondering if you have had a problem with this.

Green acres farm. I was wondering if you ever had the sensitivity of the control sticks changed by the dealer like you said they could do ? Thanks for your answer.
