How To Make an Origami Butterfly
In this tutorial, I explain how to make an origami butterfly (designed by Akira Yoshizawa) out of a sheet of printer paper. After we made the paper into a square, we go on to make the "Water Bomb Base" or "Paper Balloon Base".

After that, we will go on to make the wings and head of the butterfly, finally folding it into the final shape.

Love this. It reminds me of a video installation I saw at an art gallery. The slow motion, precise movement, different sounds; intentional use of the black wrist bands and wood table so we can focus on the folding. No introduced sounds required. Thank you for such a considered presentation. My first go was a flop. Second try, more like a bird. Will need to work on those ridges on the wing as you so ably demonstrate to allow for a bit of movement.

This is the only video that’s worked for me. It actually came out perfectly. This origami is extremely symbolic to me because my first girlfriend made me one, now this girl I’m talking to now 6 years later randomly FaceTimed me last night to make one together.
