It's 2023 and we finally give a sh!t about Toni Storm. AEW finally decided to give Toni Storm an actual sports entertainment character, and guess what, the Internet Wrestling Community that lies about valuing wrestling over sports entertainment, can't stop talking about her.

Don't get me wrong, Toni Storm is a talented women's wrestler. But there's talented women's wrestlers all around the world, what's your point? Being a good wrestler doesn't make you special in 2023. AEW has an entire division of talented wrestlers who are the most technically sound people in catering. Especially when it comes to their struggling women's division. If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand Ted Talks, wrestling will only get you so far in the world of mainstream television, which is the world where AEW will make its most money.

Stop me if you've heard this origin story before: Toni Storm was a well-traveled journeywoman, who wrestled in Japan, then worked the Mae Young Classic, and if that didn't check enough boxes for the IWC, she rebelled againt WWE and went to AEW where she... treaded water in an outcast stable where she was miscast. Paige, Toni Storm and Ruby Soho played WWE outsiders looking to take over AEW. Cute, but the problem with the Outcasts gimmick was that AEW cast the wrong women. Paige, Ruby and Toni are internet darlings who fans thought were underutilized in WWE. They’re ex-WWE the way Booker T is ex-NWO. They're perfect for the AEW Indie aestetic. If AEW wanted to get heat with an outsider stable of women, they needed the Bella Twins, Nia Jax and Mandy Rose. Those women would get so much heat from the AEW Super Cyberbullies, "Kill Yourself" would be trending on Twitter during their debut.

But now that the Outcasts have mercifully come to an end, Toni Storm has landed on her bare feet and she stuck the landing. Not only by creating an actual character that people can connect with, but by doing what most whiteboys do when it's time to get over on TV: By ripping off The Miz.

I'm telling you, there's no f*cking with The Miz's influence on modern-day wrestlers. We've already see countless unlikable whiteboys copy The Miz's whole flow to connect with WWE and AEW audiences, it's high time that a woman start ripping off The Miz too. In 2013, The Miz returned to WWE, reinventing himself as a delusional Hollywood star. He was an A-Lister and a leading man in pro wrestling company. 10 years later, Toni Storm has reinvented herself as a delusional Old Hollywood star. She's an A-Lister and a leading woman in a pro wrestling company. And it doesn't matter what pro wrestling company you're in, if you rip off The Miz correctly, you'll get over.

Nobody gave a sh!t about any of Toni Storm's AEW title reigns, because she was presented as a really good wrestler. That was her gimmick. And nobody cared. Now? Toni is a hilarious Marilyn Monroe throwback, and tossing a shoe is getting her more over than a small-package piledriver ever did. Now I can't wait for her to regain the AEW Women's World Title so she can give an acceptance speech and treat it like her own personal Oscar. There are so many creative things AEW can do with this character that will be more effective than any wrestling match. This is what all women in AEW are going to have to learn regardless, because AEW doesn't have time to book women in wrestling matches. If you're a woman in AEW waiting to show the world what you can do in a wrestling ring, chances are you'll be in the same Jacksonville waiting room as the Jags waiting to play in their first Super Bowl. Short, backstage segments is all most women in AEW have to work with, so they'll need to learn from Toni Storm and knock it out the park with character work.

Toni Storm was boring af when arrived in AEW. Then ever since she lost to Hikaru Shida at Dynamite 200... Toni Storm is the best character in the AEW Women's Division.

Tony Storm's character by far one of the most interesting gimmicks in AEW. Title or no title, Tony Storm finally found a character that suits her very well. Just hope Tony Khan doesn't do anything stupid that could hurt Tony Storm's character. Tony Storm's character is more appealing to me as someone that I want to tune into every Wednesday. Tony Storm (to me) is doing a lot best with her character than Britt Baker is doing with hers. For (W) Female wrestles (now) Tony Storm and Jamie Hayter are the only ones that stand out to me when I tune in every Wednesday for Dynamite. My favorite (B) Female wrestlers have to be Athena and Jade Cargill. I'll also mention Kiera Hogan. I don't care what more would probably say about Kiera Hogan; she's short but definitely got a butt! But also preforms very well in her matches. 🤔🤔

It honestly feels like Toni went home one night, sat down with a pen and paper, and had a serious brainstorm about this. The fact that her new gimmick comes as off as natural as it does says to me that she's a fan of that kind of character (that sort of crazed Joan Crawford-esque Hollywood madwoman) and maybe wanted to try it. I love it and I'm really happy for her too because she seems genuinely excited whenever she cuts a promo now.

I'm loving everything that Toni storm is doing. I've always been a fan of hers but my only criticism was she lacks character and personality. But the sad thing about it is that it's the only thing that's really going on in the women's division right now because everything else in aew right now sucks.

Toni found her gimmick and it's working. She is perfect in this character. And the character can be both heel/face and still be loved. She can def get a lot of miles out of this one. I appreciate this video, but I liked her in the Outcasts, same as I enjoyed her rocker persona. Toni Storm can get over doing anything. Anything. The camera loves her

Not to deny how many people are copying The Miz' whole effing flow word for word and bar for bar, cause there are a lot doing that, but one could argue that the grandpa for all these A-List wannabe gimmicks is Hollywood Rock. Not only is that probably the best version of Rock, it pretty much laid the groundwork for what Miz did and those allowed a new generation of folks to get over in that sports entertaining way.
