Показать описание
Castel del Monte, or Mountain Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is an unusual hilltop castle located in rural southern Italy. Built in the 13th century by Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II, it has a very unusual octagonal shape, with an octagonal tower at each corner. Despite the exterior being very well preserved, the building overall is something of a mystery, with its design, interior and ultimate purpose still largely unknown. Come along as we explore this fascinating site!

Hi Joel, just wanted to say how beautiful, instructive and useful your videos are. As a History of art student it was great to see the inside of Castel del Monte and to get a sense of its size, which can be difficult with a book's picture. You deserve subscribers and here's one more !

Thanks for the video. Frederick's castle aligns exactly with Monzon Castle in Aragon, from where the grail stone was taken i.e. a line from Monzon bisects the two upper archways directly and aligns exactly with the entrance. Similar to how the Ross Lyne's "unfinished wall" of Rosslyn Chapel lines up Lindores Abbey and a crucial point on the Lyne of Hermon in Scotland. Anyhow, Frederick II was married to Constance of Aragon and the entire family tree is given in Wolfram von Eschenbach's Parzifal grail story. In it he explains how the Templars are nourished by the grail stone at Monzon, like the Phoenix burning to ashes, which then give new life in turn. Kind of like how anti-cancer drugs work, which is interesting, because the bacteria to discover those anti-cancer drugs was discovered in the soils surrounding Castel del It seems that Frederick II was not aligned with the Templars and the Catholic Church, and they supported instead Charles of Anjou, who took over Sicily and used the castle as a prison for the Hohenstaufen descendants. Thankfully some of those descendants survived to bring us Rosicrucianism, whilst Frederick's chief advisor, Michael "the Wizard" Scot, of Balwearie, is a core ancestor for the emergence of Jacobite Freemasonry in Scotland. Last point is that St George and the Dragon are always associated with the grail stone, from the first origins of the order in Aragon, to James "the Just" who retained Templar possesions in Iberia, to Karoly Robert in Hungary (great grandson of Charles of Anjou) who started the first secular order, to Sigismund who created the Order of the Dragon, to Edward III (whose grandfather was looking for the stone in Scotland) and his Order of the Garter, which retains the St George tradition with the royal family.

I remember visiting Castel Del Monte, the guide brought us to a room and said '' This was Frederick's room .''
I replied : '' And next one was his parent's room, and he could hear EVERYTHING! ''
...everyone in the group burst into laughs, good times...
