Easy way to program ESP8266 using adapter module and Arduino IDE

Needed:
1. ESP8266-01
2. USB to ESP8266 Serial Wireless Wifi Module Adapter Board
3. Soldering tools and jumper wire

**You can use only one soldered programmer even without a switch. After flashing, it will immediately work as uart. The next time you want to flash, just reset it by unplugging and plugging it again to your computer. I discovered this some times after making the video.

This was so helpful I was about to rate this device poorly. I figured it would already have that type of connection in there. It is crazy they didn't wire that in the board with a switch. It would have made it only probably 25 cent more.

use 02 header straight pin with one jumper between GPIO0 to GND will work more easy and it can be use for both modes. I am using and work fine

If you don't have a soldering iron or don't want to solder you can always do this with a breadboard and some jumper cables.

An alternative would be to solder a micro switch between the 2 pins, that way you only have to buy one adaptor instead of 2.

why dont you solder a little spst switch instead so you can use it as a programmer and adapter at the same time?

I have 04 esp8266 module, I tried this as same as your video, but after uploading a script, it remains silent no progress no blue light blinks, only red light constantly lightning.

i want use this module as a standalone but i have this problem. after flash it i power it vcc 3.3 and gnd but the program doesnt start, only the red LED is on. do i need wire it something else?
