Do you think Taiwan is still heavily reliant on China?

40 years ago, when Taiwan created a remarkable economic miracle, there was no trade with mainland China at that time. In other words, Taiwan's economy can develop very well even without relying on China.

Taiwan don’t need China, but China need Taiwan. China's exports mainly come from Taiwanese manufacturers.

This is why Taiwan needs to massively diversify it's manufacturing and markets to the rest of the world.

China is Taiwan’s biggest source of trade surplus, actually over 40%.

"It was announced on May 18, 2024 that the total foreign trade between Taiwan and mainland China (including Hong Kong) dropped from 42% to 28.57% last year." Taiwan is working hard to decouple from China!

Taiwan need to really prepare itself and diversify consider China still threatens them and the possibility of an instant decoupling once invasion starts. Better be ready and safe, than be sorry and waiting around hoping the invasion does not come. It's only a matter of when, not if.

Can China survive without US market, tech and investment?

I almost need to shop on Taobao every week for various items because they are good quality and reasonably priced. The shipping cost from mainland China to Taiwan is even cheaper than domestic shipping within Taiwan.

You can survive without China but don't expect much for country economic growth. China remains Taiwan's top export partner, receiving nearly 40 percent of the island's exported goods.

⁉️⁉️Taiwan will do well not to isolate itself from China..
⁉️❓Taiwan would prosper and progress in
and within a China hinterland
⁉️‼️Taiwan must distance itself from the USA and fall not into the
American Traps and promises of CONTAINING CHINA.

What development potential does Taiwan have? The usable area is less than 10, 000 square kilometers, the labor force is several million, and there are no other advantageous industries except for the hard-working labor force working 996 at TSMC. The population and resources are insufficient and can only rely on exports. There are no finished products and only intermediate parts. Who is willing to buy your products? This channel has no basis for bragging here.
