Don't worry, China is only a developing country

In 2022 alone China has 1.56 million engineering graduates. It's rather proper that they develop 8 combat aircrafts simultaneously.

The Western mainstream narrative has stuck with the line "China copies" for too long. The Chinese do copy and often that's how they get a start on various technologies, but what's often forgotten are the next steps in which they fully catch up with indigenous designs.

why? You only need to look at the amount of US bases surrounding China as well as the rhetoric coming out of US politicians mouths.

One factor that should be taken account is the nature of how China organises its industry. The sheer size of China means it can set up provinces against each other in competition (much as the Soviets maintained separate design bureau). So the number of different aircraft may be the outcome of a deliberate attempt to spread knowhow and innovation, while maintaining a healthy level of individual competition. This is something the US has forgotten about in the last few decades, allowing a very small number of companies to dominate the industry.

Always the best content on aviation. Fair unbiased with a clear passion for the technology and engineering that goes into making incredible machines

You can't look at China's development with a traditional perspective. Once China masters something, they will develop it to the extreme at the fastest speed. For example, it took more than 10 years to complete the entire high-speed rail network and 20 years to complete the expressway. Any industry that China enters can go from zero to the world's number one in a few years.

Somebody should tell China there's no rush. Half the Fat Amy fleet is in the hangar for maintenance at any one time.

It is an "interesting" challenge.
On one hand, we have leaders dominated by lawyers (30% in Congress and 50% in the Senate, according to the CRS), people who have literally been trained to argue, often arguing black is white, to make a (very good) living.
On the other hand, we have leaders dominated by technologists (40% in the CCPCC according to the WSJ).
Meanwhile China is graduating nearly as many in STEM as the rest of the world combined, and for all intent and purpose their universities monopolise global scientific research ranking (according to CWTS Leiden).
It is easy to see there is no challenge in reality - there is only one industrial superpower in the world today.

Chinese leaders has swore that 100 yrs of humiliation should not be allowed to be repeated again. China always acted self refrain, they diplomacy than conflicts but they understand effective and fair diplomacy only possible through strong economy, military and support of the Chinese people and global south.

China is just a developing country do not have to worry, although they have their own space station, two sixth-generation aircraft can fly into space, can fly up to 4-5 Mach, but he is a developing country, Westerners should be confident.😏

I think this will prove to be a rather substantial underestimate of Chinese inventory in 2035. The US has been so aggressive and condescending that China is now forced to produce a technological great wall and will do so extraordinarily quickly.

As Sun Tzu wrote in "The Art of War": The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without engaging in direct combat. Although the US has the global military dominance, China intends to exert local military dominance in its surrounding areas to minimize the chances of a war with the US.
Despite the numerical advantage of the USAF, it can't deploy all the resources across the Pacific Ocean. China can quickly mobilize all assets, should a conflict occur at its doorstep.

"interesting times ahead... unfortunately" well said, even as an engineer fan, I wish the world didn't have to be like this

You are right, the J36 is probably not a fighter in the traditional sense, but an air combat platform, which will subvert the combat concept of old fighters

Crickey! You really have thrown the cat among the pigeons! Great Video, it clarifies A LOT, but it also creates a ton of new questions! This video I need to watch another few times, to much to take in in one sitting! Especially your interpretation of that new 5th/6th gen stealth jet nobody knows much about: using it to "kick in the door" makes a lot of sense! Thanks Gus!👍!
