Electric Pro Academy - Real skills to make real money.

I hate being called the CEO. Yes, it is my title and my role at Jefferson Electric, and yes, I do enjoy many of the big-picture, visionary, high-paced tasks associated with my role, but for all those electricians out there who are wondering what it’s like to go off on your own, please do the work well while remembering your roots fondly.

Thank you for watching; we value your feedback and monitor this channel daily.

You know in your field, CEO stands for Chief Electrical Officer. :) I once worked for a company that gave me the title of Global Operations Director "GOD" . That title didn't sit well with me either. Titles are situational. Work Ethic, Morals, and Superior Product & Service define you and your sucess. Keep up the good work.

Embrace it dude :)
Whether you call it the CEO, the grand poombah or the chief warlock, you are a great person in charge of a good company, and you change your employee's lives for the better, while delivering a great service to your customers.

If I'm leading a company I'm the one who's gonna run the business and own it.

Hire someone to be the face of the business if you still want to be in the field

Hey Joel, you can own the company but not be the CEO, CFO, COO; your able to pass that along to whomever ya want to if ya want to😉
And yeah, owning a company is great; but the RESPONSIBILITY AND PAPERWORK that goes along w/ such “title”….sucks😉
Cheers✌🏻

The CEO of the electric company my dad works at sold 50% of his company for $300 million. Maybe you should reconsider your stance

For talking with customers what about other titles? So when you are bidding for a new strip mall install you are the CEO, but for a 2 bedroom house K&T rewire you are owner/operator or senior estimator/electrician. It's what in the customer's mind that matters, and when some hear CEO, they'll think overpriced, he's going to look down on me, won't listen, and bias against your deal.

For growing companies, the skills to create systems/methods that consistently deliver your culture and quality experience for employees and customers, are different than what brought you here. This can be uncomfortable. The question was could my care for the people around me and what they needed, get me past my personal discomforts. Hopefully you are not struggling with this on your own, a peer group you like and has dealt with similar struggles is incredibly helpful.

Don’t use it. CEO should be relegated to Large companies, usually publicly traded with a Board. I think it has a negative connotation with small business. “I’m C.E.O”……….ok big boy, settle down.
