My interpretation for this song is that the girl who is singing has a crush on Michelle, the popular blond girl in school. Everything about Michelle is perfect. Gets all the guys, has a lot of friends, and is always so happy. Everything that the other girl is not. Little do people know... the girl singing and Michelle have been meeting up at the girls house, and hooking up. They both love eachother. As they meet up more and more, the girl really find out who Michelle is. Sad, depressed, and insecure, yet still puts on the act. Michelle is desperate. In need to be really loved, not just for her popularity, and highschool status. So the girl and Michelle stick together through thick and thin. But the catch is... they cant tell anyone. No one can ever know. For Michelle's sake. Theres this never ending game of the forbidden love, that no one can help. The girl is sitting against the lockers one day, to see Michelle walk by, with her usual group of "friends" and the desperate boys, just looking for her attention. The girl sits and watches feeling so torn that their love for eachother must be kept so secret, but the girl smiles because you cant help but be mesmerized by Michelle. Here group of friends start to walk away, including the needy guys. The girl decides to go up and talk to Michelle, but just as she stands, the girl sees Michelle kiss the most popular guy in school. She kissed him on the lips. Those lips were the same ones that kissed the girls lips, nights before. The girl knows it's just an act, but she cant help but feel pain, agony, and heartbroken. That night Michelle stops by her house. They talk to eachother, and decide to break up. Days go by, and Michelle slowly starts fading into the only thing that's left. Her sadness, insecurity, and guilt. One night the girl hears a knock at the door. No one was there though, justice note with a red rose. The note said " All I wanted was to be loved. Thank you for doing that." with a kiss mark on the upper right corner. The girl touched the red kiss mark, and felt the lipstick smear onto the girls finger. Days go by, and there is no sign of Michelle. The girl never saw Michelle since. The worst part is that the girl realizes how right Michelle was. As soon as she was gone, it only took a week to move on the next "miss prom queen". Everyone forgot. But you didnt.
