it is actually good practice data types to change immediately within some function or step, instead to force it with Change Type, because in my experience this step makes most of errors in PQ.

Is there a fraction option for a data type in power query? i.e.- 4/16 vs 0.25....

I can't reproduce it, but I have used this technique a lot (hate unnecessary steps!), however depending on what the M Code is doing, sometimes it simply doesn't work, and worse is that if the M Code is changed, sometimes the ", type ..." added to the end of a function will disappear if the code is changed. I use this technique all the time, so I'm not trying to contradict what's here, just saying to watch out for it, although if it happens there's a chance it will bite you anyway!
