Got this model Brand New off OfferUp this morning for $150. He kept the battery’s and charger. Still had the manual in the battery compartment. Already have 40v batteries @Home so it’s a win for me.

I still like my original cross cut mower after my second summer of use, however there are a few things about this mower and system that no one talks about. The main thing that is worrisome is the batteries. When I first purchased the mower I could do about 8/10 of my 1/4 ac. yard with one battery. As time went on, the batteries started to get weaker and weaker to the point where I could not mow my entire yard with the two 6ah batteries. My yard is flat St. Augustine grass and I cut it on #3 because it is very healthy and thick. Sometimes after getting some rain the mower would have to rev up to get thru the thick grass and the batteries would heat up. There is where I think the problem is with these batteries. They don't like to be heated up from use or from storage and they degrade fast after a few times of heating up. I did call Ryobi and they did send me two free of the new 6ah HP batteries, but to be honest I don't see much difference between the HP and regular batteries when they were new. Not sure why they could not put in some cooling technology like Ego has, it would have saved them a bunch of battery returns. Also the mulch plug is not the best and will leak some grass until the gaps fill up with enough grass to stop up the leaks. Another thing that is really annoying is it constantly leaves uncut grass behind so I have to keep going back over spots with the mower or with the trimmer. I even tried mowing the whole lawn on the slowest speed and still have this happen all the time. I do keep my blades very sharp so that is not the issue. I also overlap pretty good so it is not that either. The problem is the blades will just not turn fast enough at regular speed to create enough suction to lift all of the blades. In summation, I still like the mower despite these shortcomings, but after my 3 year warranty is over on the batteries I am going back to a Honda gas mower.

On my second season with this mower. So far so good. I have a small yard and I could probably mow 2x on one battery. It’s nice quiet and the cross cutting and mulching is great. Got this as a package deal with the whisper series blower.

Please mention if the Whisper updated model comes with the rapid charger. I certainly would hope so. Thanks 😊

I also have this awd ryobi lawn mower. It’s nice but heavy mower. I got it for $350 with 2 batteries at Home Depot Return. So lucky

I wish they would put a button to make it run higher RPMs all the time for better bagging! I have plenty of extra batteries so less runtime is not a issue for me!!!

I bought this cross-cut Ryobi mower based on the almost universally positive reviews on YouTube. I've now concluded that YouTube reviews are, by and large, made by "influencers" and wannabes who want free merch, or to get paid, and can't be tursted. I regret selling my gas mower and buying this. Two batteries won't finish even my small, 1/4 acre, yard and the cut is uneven and ragged. First bad experience I've had with a Ryobi tool.

Question the flap where the grass comes out doesn't stay down when the bag is on. How do I make it stay down so all grass goes into the bag. Also, that lever that u raised for the mulch that goes left to right is sticking n not going to the right. Any idea why?

With this one being I think the 4th version of a lawnmower from Ryobi and 3 to 400 hundred less than milwaukees idk why someone would choose the M18 Mower especially since I can't find that m18 mower tool only, only in a kit for $1099 I seen it drop to $999 for 2 days then jump back up

I had the luxury to compare both Ryobi and Ego and to be honest...I have to say I like Ryobi more because the EGO's overheating protection is a little sensitive.

5/11/24 how's the battery status and integral strength measuring up these days?

Do you find that the mulching plug on the original does not fit well enough to close all gaps? In other words, do grass clipping escape? Does the whisper version solve this problem?

Is there a reset button on the Ryobi lawnmower? It just stopped and won't restart after charging the batteries. Please advise

The handle is too low on the original crosscut version. Being 6'2" it is uncomfortable for me even in the highest position. Can the new model raise it higher or is it still just 2 positions?

Can you tell me why this mower is $50 cheaper than the non-self-propelled model 220? I’ve been googling all day and I can’t find an answer anywhere. I cannot be the first person to notice this.
