All these years of loving this song and just now found out it’s named after Ward’s beard cause it was shaped like the nib of a pen and then added the dots afterward to make it look more interesting, this was all just put in as a place marker name for a name they were gonna change later. They just kept N.I.B. as the name for 50 something years. I love this stuff.
