I'm having trouble deciding the subject of my email. I don't want to put off my professor with a very upfront title like "Request for Letter of Recommendation". Do you have any ideas? thanks! Great tips btw.

I asked one professor to write one, they said they would happily do it, it's not due until January. However, they told me they wanted me to write it myself, send it to them, and have them review it and give their stamp of approval and send it to the institution. Is this normal? That I am writing my own letter of recommendation? I don't know how to feel about this.
