Returning to the Jan 6 case narrative is not a good idea for Dems. First, a lot of the public views these prosecutions as political. The fact is that Democrats leaned way too much into this with the plethora of suits filed based on questionable legal theories and by prosecutors who ran on getting Trump. The latest Jack Smith filing also contains very little new info. Sure, It resonates with Harris' base and the folks on MSNBC, but I don't think as much with independent voters. Second, to that end, it would look like the Harris campaign is trying to change the subject from the most critical issues to likely voters: the economy and immigration. It would highlight that Harris is part of the current administration that has faltered terribly in these areas, and she would rather talk about something else.

Kamala today campaigning with Liz Cheney and ramping up the old Jan 6 rhetoric was startling in that 90% of voters we poll don't care and crazy but 65 percent forgot it even happened.
