The only reason China hasn't released a 6th Gen aircraft is because America hasn't shown its 6th Gen aircraft yet

I believe you can buy a Chinese fighter jet on Temu

7 years ago China was not exporting any EVs. Now China is dominating the EVs market. The same thing could happen in the military aircraft market.

It’s odd that China is trying to tell everyone how modern they are but still claim developing nation status to get all that cheap postage.

My concern as a buyer would not necessarily be the quality — not everything the Chinese make is dubious quality and made from chinesium — but what little tricks might be hidden in the electronics to spy on the user or maybe even sabotage military activity.

As a Chinese, I'm glad to observe the general sense from the content of this video and majority of the comments. Keep it up

I’ve never even had good luck with Chinese screwdrivers. If I was in the market for a fighter jet, a Made in China one wouldn’t even cross my mind. Forget it.

Sweden makes excellent jets, often ahead of their time, and countries aren't lining up to buy them. There are a lot of political factors in aircraft purchases. For example, America has several very large scale aircraft manufacturers. If a foreign made aircraft won competition and was selected by the U.S. military, severe public criticism would occur. That situation probably exists for many weapon systems.

The JF 17 is not a Chinese aircraft but was developed jointly by the US, Pakistan and China initially as a jet for Pakistans needs. If anything, the Chinese learned a lot by Pakistan's experience with the F16s.

Today, Pakistan builds 70 percent in Pakistan and only 30 percent is made in China and with each passing year, Pakistan is taking over more and more of the entire production cycle.

How to put this, the US spends gobs of money and is pretty much always actively deployed somewhere. If this is a good use of resources can be debated, but it does generally result in a well equipped force with pratical experience.

naaah to me it's real simple! if you have the steal the specs in order to "create" a fighter jets, it follows logic that you probably really don't understand what it is your doing, cause if you did.. you wouldn't need to steal specs!

Waiting for the day a J-20 gets the Foxbat history, mimicking a MiG-25 Foxbat pilot defected from the USSR, wherein US found out that the fighter they were afraid of actually turned out to be bollocks and the jet they've built against it was overpowered in every single way.

I worked for an aircraft company. We had certain airframes that Came from a chinese outsource manufacturer. The fit and finish and quality Of their work. Was so shotty, nearly Every airframe had to have some kind of major repair. It ended up being more costly to have a chinese manufacturer.

Have you ever considered that China isn't trying to sell their jets? China generally doesn't warmonger as much as the US does. How many times has China been to war in the last 50 years? Now how many times has the US been at war?

If china took 5 years to design and manufacture a good ballpen domestically imagine how many years just to make a competitive jet engine.

Man inflation is a bitch. I remember back in the day when an F-15 cost only 28 million dollars, much less a tiny F-16 costing 63 million dollars.

I agree, "on paper" is the key phrase. On paper Russia has an impressive military force. And the best navy in the Black sea. And a mighty air force with powerful fighters. And very effective tank divisions. On paper. But we all have seen a very different reality. On paper means nothing.

J20 does not allow exports. J11/J15/J16 has an agreement with Russia that does not allow exports. Only J10/J31 can be exported. Considering the global political landscape, Europe and the Americas will not use Chinese fighter jets. The only remaining regions are Africa, South Asia, and some parts of the Middle East.
