Expanded Form of #Addition

This is one strategy for solving #addition #equations. This strategy helps #students understand #place #value and show their work. This will help students understand the value of each #digit in the number and not have to worry about #regrouping yet. They will then be able to move to that step once they have a much deeper #understanding of #place value.

Understanding place value and how to break numbers apart will help students when they are working to solve more complex problems. Expanded form of a number for addition, or an operation, will help students as they grow in their abilities in math.

This is geared towards students in second and third grade.
