I was 21 when this song came out; I am now 80, and it still brings a smile to my face.

I've always LOVED this song. My late father-in-law and his wife were avid roller skate dancers way back in their prime when they were dating in Des Moines, Iowa. They used to go to the roller rink nearly every week. The organist there was a guy by the name of Louie Wurtz - later known as the famous pianist, Roger Williams. I still have my original copy of "Rinky Dink" on a 45 RPM record - complete with the "Chess" label.

I had a roommate in the late 80's that played this record (he had the LP) on my turntable! Now I'm going to purchase it!!

This is actually DES... digitally extracted stereo, created from a mono source. This process allows each element of the recording to be isolated, and then recombined into a "true" stereo mix. Ain't digital technology amazing?

This hit from Dave "Baby" Cortez went to #10 on the Top 40 charts and to #9 on the Rhythm & Blues charts. It would finish at #59 for the year, 1962.

I was born in the 2000’s and this music is way better than the horseshit we call music today.

how interesting. I was in my friend's car and he had the 1950s Sirus XM station on. It was playing this exact version. So it's not a 1950s song.

This is actually digitally created stereo. I have the same CD you took this from. But this is a far cry from the old "duophonic" process that was supposed to fake stereo from mono. This actually sounds good. They did the same thing with "Telstar", by The Tornadoes.

I hear Bobby Rydell's "The Cha-Cha-Cha" and Mickey & Sylvia's "Love Is Strange"

It reminds me a bit of Mickey & Sylvia's - Love is Strange.

Great idea, but I didn't do this (or any of the other remixes I've posted)...haven't gotten anywhere near the hang of it...but look around, there are quite a few remix channels...someone might have gotten around to it
