Learn how Lucky the Penguin got a new 3D Printed boot!
Lucky is a Humboldt Penguin, born in the Santa Barbara Zoo. Due to the condition of his foot at birth, Lucky went on a long journey to discover the perfect boot to help him get around. Traditional boot materials didn't hold up to his penguin lifestyle, but breakthroughs in 3D printing technology called Carbon DLS (Digital Light Synthesis) allowed for a custom fit boot which was printed in both strong and flexible materials.
