Valve, you knocked it out of the park with this. The stream quality was excellent, the hosts were great, you didn't overproduce it, you were open and responsive to questions - it was great. As usual, you (frustratingly) set the bar for what other orgs with billions more should be doing. Thank you so much for the passion and openness.

I'm not a developer but I love this kind of thing. I hope Valve keeps doing these.

This is like a bizzarro-world anti-Apple-WWDC. Clear, concise, real-world, no BS. A stream designed for humans by humans, not marketing spivs.
No SuperLiquidRetinaSaphire, just a banana for scale.
Bravo.

Yknow, I was a lil worried AMD would do a sales pitch
But the information was very very insightful. Future FSR woop!

Just in general, all the priorities given are very intriguing.

I still gotta watch the Q&A parts to see if they talked about L1-2-3 cache, given AMDs proficiency with cache sizes I'm curious to see what the APU has.

Love the banana for scale. Great work valve, you've done a whole lot of good with proton and the dev service and client, and the presentation and hosts were all fantastic

I wonder if the game download files would be smaller in size compared to PC. Better yet, I hope we get the option of downloading a game in standard resolution for those of us that won't push the graphics beyond the screen resolution.

Still sad it got bumped 2 months I can’t wait to tinker with it

2:57:18 Any roadmap or news on Media Foundation support? I have around a dozen of games in my Steam library where this is the only showstopper.

Glad that I can see whether something is Deck Verified if I own one. I typically add to my Steam wishlist and purchase games on my phone because I watch game reviews on YouTube on my phone! If I had to wait till I'm on my Deck... I would honestly likely forget the name of the game I wanted to purchase or add to wishlist.

The way they talk in their videos, I feel like if valve had any lawyers - they’ve all quit.

In a good way.

Thank you Valve. We hope for some flagship title with the Steam Deck!

Games that are a huge download should be distributed to the end user in optional pieces.
The fact that these AAA companies dont bother to consider that shows how little they care for the enduser.
Look at Mass Effect Legendary Edition for example. 100GB. But you can't download each game individually.

1:15:15 He didn't answer the question on how they are selecting who gets the dev kits. Edit: Oh, he does at the VERY end (nice!) 3:39:00
But I definitely agree the whole thing is shaping up really well, both the device itself and the way it's being presented; simple, straight forward and very open.
