July Vegetable Garden Tour | Growing Food In Alaska

Показать описание
After putting our sawmill to use and building a flower planter box for our new garden entrance, we give you a full tour of our high tunnel and outdoor garden area.

With the short growing season in Alaska we focus on high production and preserving what crops we grow. July, however, is a month of abundance and we can harvest fresh food each day while still ensuring there is enough produce to preserve later in the season.

We take a quick peek at our mini orchard to see how the fruit trees and flowers are coming along this year.

We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure 😀

Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! 💙

I do not understand how a single person could dislike their videos. They are just living and sharing their chosen way of life with people. Keep it up guys I love your videos!

You need to wear chain saw chaps. One kick back or one forgetful moment could change you life completely. How far are you from medical aid if you have a serious bleed?

You guys have no idea how profoundly healing you are. I love everything you post. It gives me hope to see the beauty of your young spirits living off the land.

I really enjoy the obvious pride Ariel beams as she shows the results of your hard work. You’re both such a huge inspiration. Thank you for sharing it with us in such a professional manner.

I removed a post from our yard while my husband was at work one day. I drilled a 2” hole right through it, about 7” up from the ground and the I slid a pry bar through the hole. Then I put hubby’s hydrolic floor jack under the pry bar, right close to the post, and jacked that thing right out of the ground. I love your channel. Your content is wonderful. Best of luck in all your endeavours. ❤️👍🏼

"Darling we need a new post for the fence. Husband: "OK, let me get my chainsaw". Cannot get more self sufficient than this. I love (and admire) this wonderful couple.

I'm watching this video and I can't help but to start bawling. We were planning on moving to Soldotna Alaska to help with my bf and my aging parents. We visited in May and made all these plans for this summer. 2 and a half weeks ago, 10 people living and visiting in their household got sick and tested positive for COVID. A week later my father in law passed and a few days after that, my mother in law passed and yesterday my bf aunt passed. We are beyond devastated and our heads are spinning. We lost the matriarchs and patriarch of our family in the blink of an eye. I just can't believe it. Between the bouts of crying and hysteria, I'm trying my best to take care of everyone. We still want to move to Ak, but it won't be the same walking into their empty house 😞😞

Pruning the "suckers" off the tomatoes definitely makes a HUGE difference in the yield. Instead of putting energy into producing foliage, the plant puts its energy into making more and bigger fruit. 😁

Strangely, I was just going to ask what happened to the new sawmill and here it is! Watching logs being sawed into lumber and Arielle's tour of your maturing garden makes another hit video. 👍👍👍

Such a beautiful garden! Weeds and all. Your greens just blow me away how big they get. I've learned from watching your garden videos so thank you for taking the time to walk us thru and share your knowledge.
