You can also tilt it back so the juice doesn't spill when you open. Sip some juice out before continuing. I know this vid was like 3 years ago but still :) It's so much easier and you dont need all that stuff

Try ergonomic locking pliers. If you still have some grip strength. It gives you something to hold onto.

Not every one has tape marker and knife

If you have a key like the kind that's on the top of a sardine can, stick the tab into the slot and keep turning.

I searched eBay for Kitchen pliers. What I decided to try was something like a large tweezers for pulling pig hair. For the brand of fruit cup I have they're so full, I know my fingers would get a lot of peach juice on them. I have enough straws and will also consider that idea. From me to me+ always do it on an easy to clean surface like a kitchen counter. 74 years old I am with neurological damage. THANKS

this "lid" design was flawed from the start. As someone else comments - when we need a video teaching us on how to get them open without showering the juice everywhere something needs fixed. I get that this video is directed at another issue as a result of the design, but even us who have no grip issues have long despised the design. For decades now, I will only buy this cup when there is literally no other choice on the shelf; and even then, I generally opt for alternatives to avoid them. (Great idea though from the video - I wouldn't have thought of going to such lengths, or trouble, to open a cup of fruit).

It's not a matter of strength for me it's just I don't care for having to clean up Juice on the floor and all over me as well
